I'm not familiar with Katie but I agree, she's very pretty and seems lovely. I'm glad that there's at least one female member of the band, because it just feels weird seeing a dude play bass in SP.

This is probably the best thing anyone's posted about the reunion tour.

Everything's all wonky now with social media. We shouldn't really know that Billy goes on Alex Jones, or that Jimmy has a cute siamese cat, or see Billy's stupid iPad scribbled setlist

everyone kinda just wants demigods coming from behind the curtains

As far as the Arizona show -

I added up tickets for sale on Ticketmaster, Stubhub and Vividseats and combined them. Around 2,000 total available. What other sites would have tickets?

Gila River Arena holds 19,000 but that would be for center stage. End stage might get 12,000 would be my guess. So if they sold 10,000 out of 12,000 that wouldn't be too bad. Sure people will buy last second too.

In one of Katie Cole's photos, I noticed upper deck seats covered at the center part. Although on all sites above, you can get upper deck tickets still. Also there could have still been events at that arena before thursday, so not sure what to make of it.

Long story short, I had too much time on my hands tonight.

Yeah, I'm sure most would chalk this up to nostalgia, but it seemed more fun following a band when you didn't know their every move and detail. For any little nuggets you'd have to buy rock rags at the local pharmacy and then you'd just stare at pictures of your hero's on these pages. Also, before you'd have to call record stores and listen to the radio all the time just to know when new music was coming out, and when you found out, it was usually accompanied by a new single only a couple months before an albums release. When I was little I literally counted down the days for Green Days Insomniac lol.

As a kid, I had no idea when new music was coming out, I'd watch MTV or rather in my case "Much Music" and then they'd announce a new Smashing Pumpkins video is coming up next and then my first time hearing Bullet With Butterfly Wings was with the new video and it was just like "Holy shit!". Cause you certainly don't expect them to come out looking and playing like that then there's D'arcy with short blue hair and everything and it's like "WTF!?!? THIS IS AWESOME!!!". And hearing 1979 for the first time was the same thing, with the video first. Tonight Tonight too. And that really added to the experience of listening to new music, because you had this great imagery accompanying the song. I think people take it for granted because those videos are such classics now but the 90's was great for that... You know, Buddy Holy, Blackhole Sun, Heart Shape Box ETC.

That's all part of being a kid though, but you know, I think in a lot of cases the less you know about an artist, the better... But of course a great song overrides everything, so if Billy was still putting out face-melting stuff, it wouldn't matter when his bandmates come across as self-obsessed wankers. Hell, Billy Corgan was certainly proof of that in his heyday.

That's what I liked so much about Billy's demos i.e. Sadlands etc. They were intimate nuggets of gold you had to search for and collect. Now, I don't think there's been a demo leaked since Machina?

Not bad but too much make up. All these wannabe musician chick who play a bit of a keyboard or flute must gather around an old wannabe rockstar to gain some attention.

Billy your time is gone but u can play the same setlist every day. That will not help u to get some new fans by releasing metalsongs with voice up front and jimmys random jazzdrumming. Funny how iha just cashes and doesnt give a shit about sp future

Do albums even leak anymore? I remember combing through that massive yousendit thread over at Atease forum. It was kind of exciting when something would leak you’ve been waiting for. It may just be that I am much busier these days, but I just wait for it to show up in Apple Music or Spotify .

A lot of Lady GaGa material leaked when she got famous with "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster". Songs that were way better than her next album "Born This Way".

Now she ends for two years playing in Las Vegas...

I was only able to find a lo-res picture in this Modern Drummer article:

https://www.moderndrummer.com/2007/0...-chamberlin-2/

Quote:
“We are not going about this to be a heritage act,” Chamberlin explains regarding his band’s very successful reunion. (Zeitgeist debuted at #1 in multiple countries.) “We are going out to reinvigorate the brand name and give ourselves a musical destiny that is going to span the next twenty years.”

Billy and Jimmy talked a lot about the "brand" of Smashing Pumpkins back then. I've never heard of any band refer to themselves like that so much. It's kind of gross.

Yeah you could almost stomach it if they hadn't decided that the Zeitgeist aesthetic was their core "brand" in 2018.

Wearing a tie while showing your bellybutton... #naturalwomanatcomedycentral

Don't they be shiny and bright enough to have at least black tea bags against bruises?
Someone could die this tour with such bad medical support... #deadnation
