That pic Jimmy posted of his kit on instagram is weirding me out:

This drum and cymbal combo is so sweet. @istanbulagop are bringing these tunes alive up top and laying upon a thundering foundation that is the @yamahadrumsofficial Absolute Maple Hybrid. I’ve got the bass drum wide open with no dampening. It is super focused while remaining “live” in the best way. A testament to the incredible craftsmanship that goes into these instruments. Couldn’t be happier and couldn’t imagine playing anything else for this show. #smashingpumpkins #shinyandohsobrightour2018

Yeah, he was. I remember seeing him at one of the Asheville shows and he was skinny as a rail. He strongly resembles Red Forman when he's that thin (probably because he was scowling through the whole show).

nah rock is perfectly fine. there are tons of artists who don't use social media and stay safe in the shadows of eldritch yore. the dudes from drudkh have never given an interview. varg doesn't play live. al cisneros doesn't even own a phone.

I am so grateful to embark on this journey. Wouldn't be possible without @chamberdrums @jamesihaofficial @jjjschroeder @jackbass89 @katiecoleofficial and the visionary efforts of @lindastrawberry. And a personal thank you on behalf of the band to @livenation for the faith. Having just passed the 30 year anniversary of the band's first show, one reflects on the highs and lows, and with the blessing of time it can seem like a beautifully woven tapestry. But it is clear now that every stitch in that journey was made possible by those who bought the records/cd's/cassettes and of course the tickets. So thank you. Tonight, and every show that follows, is for you. @smashingpumpkins #smashingpumpkins

Ya know, I had no idea that the Oceania tour tried to be an arena tour. I thought that was only oversees. When I saw it the show was at mid/large theater.

The band hires LiveNation, but they ain't takin' much direction from the band. They're a powerhouse and they must have crunched some numbers somewhere that pointed to this being profitable for them and it probably will be

They wanted to move the show to small theaters because it failed to sell. But Bobo would not give up the globe.

Promoters have far less power than apologists like to give them.

it might be nice if you are on the nosebleed seats. or anywhere that aren't the first 20 rows. maybe? karaoke nights with video.

it's just so baffling to me (yes, still!) that you bother with a screen show and tour crew this size - and then hand over the video production to Linda Iamblind Strawdingle.

the calculation for years now looks like

- merch (airplane mode and people who can't tell a font from their ass)
- graphic design SP overall (see above)
- album design (see above plus Strawdingle)
- photo shoots (amateur)
- videos (see above)
- now add tour members (Katie Howard Willing protégé Cole, son of who the fuck cares)

done by absolute hacks not worth a cent as long as they are dedicated ass kissers and do it for as little money as possible. interesting brand system.
