Red face Smashing Pumpkins performed lastnight...

...by my tribute band the Mashing Potatoes

My part of Australia has relaxed restrictions so we get to have live music again. Last night was a mini "Lollapalooza" style show with 90's festival sets by tribute bands playing music by Foo Fighters (that was me too - see that here: https://youtu.be/-APAGqmNblY), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam and Nirvana.

Set list/info are in the youtube video description. I'm the drummer in the band. The crowd are pretty tame and take a while to move any closer to the stage, it had only just stopped raining 10 minutes before we opened the show.

Hopefully fellow JC nerd Ram appreciates some of the live Jimmy-isms I played...

Did B'arcy steal the heart logo from Kurt or Courtney?

Apparently Courtney gave this guitar to Kurt. It has paint removed in a similar shape to the SP heart logo, just reversed.

Possible that B'arcy saw that guitar when he was with Courtney and remembered that shape.

Who knows.

I don't know how to embed images

"Kurt played this Telecaster regularly during the Oceania tour in January/February 1992, after which it for some reason disappeared."

That was, all around, awesome. Nice to hear a set by a cover band that is not only performed well, but also recorded that well. Love the inclusion of the Vieuphoria Disarm and to close with Geek is a true power move. Great call there.

Thank you! We've done a few more daring renditions... our debut show we did the final show "Fuck You" as well as the '97 tour Ruby with the extended jam/outro, you can see all that here (plus I'm setup like Jimmy in this video too):

Vocally it's a little squirrely at times but instrumentally though we're all pretty on point.

on a related note here's my band's second run though of bullet

that flam-tom triplet thing fucks me up in bullet particularly. it's like it serves to take up like a quarter note, or implies that it does, and it's hard to play it tight and not sound like a toddler

time will ease the PAIN
