i am currently in a DBT group but it's strictly non-processing (basically you don't talk in depth about your issues besides related to specific skills). i have been in process groups before and yes those are good, however i am still fairly unique in the fact that i lost the years of my life when you first learn how to have deep relationships. most people with c-ptsd still manage to have relationships, although they are often unhealthy ones. i'm so afraid of having an unhealthy one again that i don't have them at all, probably. but it's not a conscious thing

You're great at making friends online. Not every friendship has to be a deep one either. Sometimes it's just fun to do things with people who share similar interests and just leaving it at that. I have a lot of buddys were the friendship isn't deep at all.

Sometimes it takes time for these things to form.

Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, have you ever found yourself in a situation in which you had the opportunity to make an intimate friend, but dissociation prohibited you from doing so? Or is the filter further upstream, preventing you from even getting to that point of having a potential close friend?

I just did some shopping for socks, and then I'm gonna go home and play some more Metal Gear.

I can't justify how much I spent on socks. Five bucks for a single pair of pieces of fabric that cover your feet is outrageous. But I like socks with nice colors or designs that complement outfits well, and cheap socks that you can get in huge packs from Wal-Mart only seem to come in black or white.
