Watched the Rollins thing on Moz and I have to say the November Spawned a Monster video was my introduction to Morrissey in like 1991 and i was a bit like..ok what the fuck is this? It used to annoy me whenever it came on.

now i don't feel that happens at all. or if it does it is very traditional and rare, almost from a purest attitude.

idk not concrete thoughts but just shooting the shit
This is how I got into all the bands I love...one band leads to another band who influenced another band that had members in this other band and so on.

i think outside of DM and cure, the output of the rest is too uneven to really say for sure it's better than pre-breakup SP. And i still like New Order more than SP.

for my money JD is more misses than hits (but the hits are really good) and MBV has one good record.

SP is better than Boston and Rush and Cheap trick. Not like that was hard though.

Pink Floyd is always an acceptable answer.

I wouldn't try to disagree with someone who said they're the greatest band ever

The Wall is but I still hold that album in a very special place

Syd Barrett stuff is the "cool" Pink Floyd stuff to like I would suppose.

Syd was a true genius

Piper at the Gates still holds up as the best psychedelic pop I've ever heard and I keep searching and searching

They might have millions of fans but Rush is such a niche band. Either you're THAT kind of nerd or you're not. And if you're not, there's no argument that can make you believe Rush is good. I do respect them though. Dad rock, no. Rock for people who love maths, yes.

It really is the type of band Math people love. I'm not saying it's inherently a bad thing, just not for me.
