I like them. They aren't great by any means, none of their songs really blow me away. They wrote good story-songs, and have some great melodies.
I got the Glen Phillips' solo album as a promo when I worked at Borders. It's pretty good. There's something really heartwarming about him/them. Also, they are a little strange in that all of their albums are on the same level imo - none of them are much better or much worse than the others. If anyone wants to check them out (and actually buys CDs), go to Amazon. You'll pay $3-$5 with shipping for a used copy of each CD, you can't beat that. |
