The Bat-Strat mystery

Here's a recently-uploaded MCIS-era BWBW performance video that's of really good quality, and shows the bat strat being played, with the replacement neck that has a piece of duct tape covering the alleged Squire logo.




I notice a few things about the guitar, in this footage:

- the neck has a graphtech string-tree
- the vintage bridge that can be seen in the OP picture of the bat strat has been replaced with a modern Fender strat bridge
- Billy has his lace sensor pickups height configured very low. Lace sensors are usually set up closer to the strings
- the neck shows signs of wear of the finish around its base, and greying of the wood underneath, which is what happens when raw maple is exposed to air for a while. If Billy got the neck around 1995, the neck must've been a used neck when Billy got it

tape over the squier logo is lame as hell, if the guitar was playing to his standards why not rock the name?

squier actually does have some good guitars, necks particularly.. the "50's vibe" neck feels and plays better than the american std fender necks do!
