not especially. that's a serious question though. how on earth could that be his fault?

It may not be all his fault but who knows how he said the count, and the qb is responsible for grabbing early snaps.

I just love it when he suffers is all

That 4th quarter was so satisfying. I was losing in the Netpho FF league by 4 points going into the 4th with the sex panthers playing Romo and me with the Jets defense. QB against a D? I thought I was well fucked and I was clearly wrong. Romo's fumble at the 1 pretty much sums his career up to this point. Great game and inspiring week 1 FF win.

Right from the Dallas Morning News Sports columnist:

Quote:
The icing on the cake came when Phil Costa's shotgun snap hit Romo in the stomach because the quarterback wasn't paying attention with eight seconds left in the game. Even Romo's biggest supporters have to be scratching their heads about his fourth quarter play.

I don't think that's an accurate read on the situation. He was paying attention. Just not to the center, because the ball wasn't supposed to have been snapped.

The fumble at the 1 and the horrible INT to Reevis are definitely his fault though. I appreciate the effort on the scramble but you have to protect the friggin' ball. Even a FG would have pretty much been it. The image of him dumbly standing there as the ball pooched off his stomach sums up the state of the Cowboys the last few years.

oh sure. he seems way too scatterbrained to be a winning quarterback.

sanchez didn't play very well either though.

But he did when it counted; that's the thing with Romo. He tends to play well when it's not "needed" and folds like a house of cards when there's pressure on him.

He is NFL's version of LeBron James, indeed.

sanchez was pretty damn close to being picked off on that FG drive.

Most definitely, but he wasn't and he didn't let that mistake unfold to future issues.

I'm not a fan of either team or player, but you could tell Romo can't step up to take control of a team quite like Sanchez, surprisingly to me, did.

Rob Ryan looked like he was going to murder someone after the game - did anyone catch who he was screaming profanities at on his sideline immediately after the final play?

also, were the falcons just terribly overhyped or have the bears improved? the offensive line seemed better. cutler seemed better. roy williams seemed ok. hester is hester. kellen davis is probably gonna end up being an improvement over greg olson. forte looked better than he looked most of last year.

iii dunno. i guess we'll have a much better idea of what the bears are two weeks from now. : /

For the record, I've realized I'm just too emotionally involved and irrational to pass any sort of accurate judgement on my beloved Bucs. I had them at 5-6 wins tops last year and they rattle off 10. Coming into this season, I figured they'd suffer from the lack of OTAs but had no idea that they'd suffer as much as they did. They looked sluggish, disorganized, badly coached and completely lost. Worse, Freeman looked like he took 3 steps back. It's just week 1 and I'm not going to step off a cliff, but fuck man I was frustrated with what I saw in all three facets of the game.

I was wondering what was up with Rob Ryan as well. It was like the dude put down a J and picked up some PCP.

I ended up watching a good chunk of the DET-TB game since I had Freeman as my QB. I think Detroit's going to be a much better team than anyone really things, at least defensively.

They were in the backfield with Freeman all game it seemed like, not allowing them any type of rhythm.

There was some pressure but Freeman failed where he succeeded last year in extending plays briefly with his mobility and accurately checking down. Lots of passes into feet and way out of reach. Those things can be explained by a bit of rust. What was most concerning for me was the piss poor play calling from the bench and clock management on the field in the 4th quarter. DET did everything they could to let us back into the game and we couldn't take advantage.
