One thing Jimmy said at the clinic is how he and Billy were listening to each other's latest records: Jimmy's jazz stuff with Frank Catalano, and MTAE. Jimmy mentioned that 5 minutes of his music took 5 minutes to make; and 5 minutes of the Pumpkins stuff took Billy 6 months [and it sucked...well he didn't say that but]

anyway my point is this is probably gonna suck and be overproduced cause it's billy in 2016

As far as I know, Billy didn't spend much time on the solo record. It didn't take him 1 year to write, record and produce it.

So it'll be like all of those throwaway, spur of the moment residency songs he shat out over morning coffee?

How many different ways does one need to hear "Luvvvva yer strange!!!!!" to figure he's listening to complete crap music?

I hope Billy finally finished 'Depresso' and it is on this album. That would be neat.

4 actually IIRC. Tiberius, Beige, Drum+Fife, One and All. they were okay but the other ones were literally grating to listen to, just within 5 seconds of them starting

I mean do we really have any reason to expect anything good or respect him enough to not criticize him? At this rate he's put out about as many bad albums as good and it's been nothing but bad ones for 15 years

well, on one hand we haven't really gotten a "corgan solo album" since TFE, so at the very least there's some novelty in it

but really, i've been wanting something like this since at least that Ravinia show, since there seems to be at least some difference in how he approaches making music under his own name versus a new variation of The Pumpkins, so why not

I'm excited he is bringing out a new solo album. I enjoyed TFE, and the live shows even more. The fact he is still making music, and that it is still fairly diverse (ie: electronic experimentation as well as the somewhat standard rock of SP post 2007) makes me hopeful that the new solo album adds to what we have previously.

If anything I wish he had stuck down the solo route post 2000 - it seems to be where the most interesting music comes from. If anything TSP (IMO) is kind of an impediment to his creativity in some ways, because it seems to be music trying to address a perceived expectation - I don't get that with his own projects....which is probably why I enjoy it more.

Now, if only he would get in the studio with JC and MG and make that jazz/rock record we were promised years ago

what's the point of criticizing him on something we haven't heard at all?

this album will be worse than TFE and will lead to Bobo's suicide.

I remember MTV said they lost the full tapes to Nirvana's Live and Loud show. Then the whole thing came out

MTV said the same thing about the Brixton show..

TFE was no better/worse than MSOTS or Zeitgeist, for whatever that's worth.

this. releasing D4N would make us all yawn. but branding it with a new name, makes some of us slightly more excited. even tho its probably the same thing. good business move.

That's probably exactly what's going on.

New SP will probably feature JC and JI along with a massive tour. Hopefully anyways!

Didn't D4N originally feature the drummer from Theory Of A Deadman?

Anyone remember that? Billy was actually gonna have the fucking guy from Theory Of a Deadman on the Smashing Pumpkins tour.

Why does Billy do this to us?

I think that was actually for the Monuments tour, and the dude posted tour dates before SP had released them. Then we got RATMan
