saying that, eraser kinda sounds like autechre ripoff. and TKOL kinda gets too close to flying lotus. but these are non-essentials, so who cares.
Kid a and amnesiac? Dated?

Dude your username is MonumentsRocks. That means your opinion doesn't matter.

Have you taken a look around lately? We're all commenting on a message board that hasn't had its software updated in over eleven years.

I don't know what to tell you, I've listened to it all the way through probably fifty times, which is where I max out with almost any album I enjoy. I've only made it through Oceania a couple times, but only because I was concentrating on something other than the music at the time. If Monuments is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I've also listened to most of Teargarden about fifty times. Song for a Son, Tom Tom, Spangled, Freak, I like them all. Also I didn't realize American Gothic wasn't lumped into TBK, but The Rose March is killer, too. I'd be the first to admit they're closer to Zwan than "golden era" Pumpkins, but that's neither here nor there.

Listening to MTaE hasn't consumed any of my time, if that's what you're suggesting. I listen to music while I work or drive. I don't set up dedicated music listening sessions. TBH, I'm surprised you'd bring up how people spend their time, I'd think that would be a sore subject on a forum such as this.

PHM is dated in the best kinda way tho. Like it's just enough to be slightly humorous but, the intent of the album is still largely in tact. No better example of this than Down In It

That doesn't make any sense either, very few of my posts have been to defend MTaE, I know such posts are waste of time on a forum that prides itself on shitting on Billy. I allow my username to speak for itself. Truth be told, I think you guys accuse Sad Machines of being sycophants to somehow justify your being absolute malcontents. You are the very thing which you accuse others of being.

nah, this place has been malcontents-central for 15 years longer than "sad machines" even exist. Bully himself has always been justification enough.

Ted Nugent recently came out and ripped on the Hall Of Fame

""Joe Walsh nailed it - he said, 'It's not music-lover-driven.' He used the word 'fan,' and it's not fan-driven. It's ultra-leftist, liberal-CEO-driven gang who couldn't give a rat's ass about the music."

Definitely goes back to my point about the non-leftists being discriminated against.

https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news...out_music.html

But really, the HOF is a joke. It's about as meaningless as the Grammy's. I can't wrap my head around why that sorta shit is important to music fans.

It's not

Nearly 100% of any actual music fan (or hell, even casual music fan) I've known has seen it as a novelty at best. Not gonna change anyone's top 5 artists or anything

I share liberal ideals, so I'm not one to undermine liberal people, but what they're doing is liberal revisionist history. "We wish there were more black people in rock and roll, so let's pretend there were, rather than acknowledge the true nature of the thing we claim to hold so sacred."

As for the idea that we should just ignore the R&R HoF, that's easier said than done. It will come up again and again for decades, conceivably, in relation to our favorite bands. Even if it doesn't matter to us, it will matter to the bands we like, even though we wish it didn't. I just hope that someday, when the founding members are dead and gone, and a new generation will come along and reform it for the better.
