I'm going to fantasize about the possibility that appetite was written for billy corgan. Seems highly possible.

From Japanese liner notes.

James says about Appetite's lyrics,
"This lyrics was written for a type of person I don't like.
It is people in the world of darkness (If I compare).
It is not one specific person but some real people has been the idea of this lyrics."

I have a friend sending me a link later today... they say the liner notes are all in Japanese, but it looks like a full fold out poster of writing from Mr. Iha and will try to get a scan if they can... will definitely have a link to the music later though.

Word...

This album seals it for me that James Iha was the one who brought that distinctive "atmosphere" to the Pumpkins that can simply never be gained back with out him...

Appetite and To Who Knows Where are a nice change of pace. Most of this is sappy pop rock that I have come to expect from James. It's not a terrible album but it's not something that I can listen to again and again.

"To Who Knows Where", "Gemini", "Speed Of Love" are like "Go" and they're pretty good tunes.
It reminds me of MCIS when I listening to "Dream Tonight".

Even the noisier songs like Gemini are still too sappy and corny for me to appreciate. He just can't escape that style.

Yep, this. My vulva is fucking LOVING this for sure. Appetite was weird, yo. Holy shit Waves rules. Pleasantly surprised by the departure from the country/singer-songwriter style of the first album.
