Yeah baby! The Austin Powers prequel I never knew I wanted/needed.

Somewhat aimless but always engrossing (like your father etc.) thriller with no resolution, other than the notion that we all make our own realities. I already can't wait to watch it a second time.

9/10

Can we give the father "jokes" a rest already?

Like, can't you tell it's outstayed its welcome?

Countdown - 2/5
Exactly the kind of dumb I fully appreciate in my horror movies. Also I downloaded the app and found out I have 23 years left to live. Sigh.

Wounds - 3/5
This was actually interesting to a point despite having a completely unlikeable main character who is treated way too nicely by people around him. But it managed to execute it's trite concept in an intriguing way.

anyway, 1917

fuckin' great, I shudder to think what kinda nightmare it must have been to actually film tho - provided there was minor "trickery" in putting it all together

The Florida Project: A+

i really loved this, but found it a bit overwhelming at the end. it started out amazingly fun. i like the editing, nothing is overwrought, they give you just enough of a scene so you get the point and move on. it's handled really well. the acting is great. it wasn't uplifting but it was moving

Unhappy

The trailer and cast make it seem like it's going to be both funny and sad, but it is straight sad with one or two funny bits. Two siblings self-destructing and yelling at each other about it. Fucking ruined my night. B+

I feel like my favorite Coen Bros. movie is always the one I watched most recently. So, The Hudsucker Proxy is my fav Coen joint, until, y'know, I re-watch Raising Arizona or something.

Haven't seen this since 1989? 1990? Re: David Bowie's bulge: I'm sure glad that 3D wasn't a big thing in 1986.

The Simpsons, Season 13, Episode 2: 'The Parent Rap'

People knock on post-90s Simpsons, but this one had me giggling in bed like Took's father on a Saturday night. Over-the-hill Simpsons did absurdity better than Family Guy ever could in their prime.

The Rest of Us

I rented this for $0.99 on Amazon. It was entertaining, but I would suggest waiting till it's on a streaming platform for "free" and not bother with paying a dollar for it.

that cover reminds me of this:

Miles was reportedly unhappy about the album's original cover, which featured a photograph of a young white woman and child aboard a sailboat. He made his displeasure known to Columbia executive George Avakian, asking, "Why'd you put that white bitch on there?"

I don't really care about Family Guy but I do appreciate Seth Macfarlane as a "television personality"

also, I ride 4 Californication

Last time I saw Heather Graham in something, it was this:

I felt embarrassed and depressed on her behalf.

Saw the first one. It was fine but overrated. I suspect it hasn't aged well. All I remember about the second was Ed Helms unwillingly got a penis in his ass and everyone treated it like the height of comedy. Never bothered with the third. They did make a third, right?

Anywho, I had forgotten she was in The Hangover.
