The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I was excited to watch it. Really excited.
But it honestly surpassed all my expectations and I was so incredibally chuffed by this movie. Were you too, or do I just suck? |

When Shredder breaks up through the earth's surface in his big round drill it's like he's emerging from the sexual subconscious of the human mind.

I liked the new movie. The plot was kinda iffy but the animation was good and Leo fighting Raph was pretty bad ass.
I had more Ninja Turtle toys than anything else growing up. I have a lot of thier early Comics too. I should dig those out i used to love sitting around and drawing Ninja turtles. |

Anyway, I was pretty stoked for TMNT. I enjoyed it a lot but ultimately, for me, the turtles belong in the comics. |

The movie had its moments, it was way better than the last 2 live action movies because, frankly, in live action the turtles look damned awkward, so they play better in animation. It was really missing Shredder as the main bad guy and the Foot Clan as a formidable threat - the baddies they got in their place were a weak crop. (you get Zhang Ziyi to voice the female badguy, give her a pretty cool ninja-meets-emo-kid design, and have her do jack-all? Waste.) And April O'Niel is a ninja chick now? I mean, come on! But, really, the highlight is the Raphel / Leonardo throwdown - that's like a solid 10 years of buildup to that fight and it pays off really, really well.

Those Krang guys were in the comics but there was like a whole planet full of em. and along with those were the Triceratons (having these guys in the follow up movie is a must for me) . |

I just love how its a fight at night in the rain - you hardly ever get that in live action (shit be too expensive, yo.), and in animation it looks even more badass.
Oh, and this has nothing to do with the movie (although it really, really should have), but: |

I was like, 8 years old and even then I realized that Denver The Last Dinosaur was fucking garbage. In fact, alot of cartoons were garbage. Only good ones I can remember would be Tiny Toons (and, to a lesser extent, Animaniacs), Batman, Spider-Man, and Ninja Turtles (and the latter one doesn't stand up very well, its just entertaining).

wow, I've never seen that before, but it was pretty awesome. Re-dubed anime is always funky. I loved how the two bigger kids just bail on the little one right at the beginning.

in reference to the original cartoon:
We weren't allowed to see the Nunchucks in Ireland. Plus the word "Ninja" was censored from the title. All the interspecies sex was cut too.
