You see Huff's double fist pumps after taking Joba deep Sunday? That. Was. Hilarious.

Jason Bay currently has a 1.134 OPS.

1.134 OPS

Holy fuck.

Yeah, I saw it. I thought it was kind of bush because he repeatedly did it and everyone makes a big deal about an occasional pumped fist by joba because he's a Yankee, but K-Rod and Papelbon jerk off all over the mound and nobody says shit.

I was listening to the Orioles cast because the YES feed was fucked up and they kept saying how Joba might hit Huff, but he let it go. Post-game, Joba said basically 'hey if I do it, he should be able to.'

The difference to me is those guys are finishing games, not striking out guys in the 4th inning while losing or whatever. I don't really care if guys rip off their shirts and scream to be honest, but it's comical to me when guys who are losing do it to end a regular inning. It just makes more sense to get pumped after a high-lev close situation (using Papelbon as an example last night).

If Huff wanted to get back at Joba, he should've walked around the bases.

Speaking of Papelbon; I can't wait until Boston gets to trade him for a stud catcher.

Apparently the rumour was Lou Marson for Clay Buchholz, but the Red Sox were reluctant to trade a starting pitcher for a catcher.

Marson isn't worth high-quality ML talent or even talent that's projected to be so.

I agree with that actually, he may be a nice player in the future, but I don't expect him to be an All-Star or anything.

Joba doesn't do it often as a starter... and he only did it in Boston, and slightly, when he got the strikeout with men on base to end the inning. High leverage.

Also nobody is going to give up a stud catcher for a reliever

I'm sure the RSN rumor mill has Buchholz + 3 crappy throw-ins for Matt Wieters

SF has expressed heavy interest. They're so idiotic it makes sense.

Reliable for the next 10 years? Fuck dude he's not reliable tomorrow. He has more walks this year than his entire 2008 season. His arm slot is all over the place.

There's not many relievers that are reliable for the next ten years. They are few and far between.

That's mechanical and should be on the pitching coach

He won't listen - they'll change but he begins throwing his arm upward still.

Starters are far more valuable than relievers, and the kid was a starter his entire career in high school, college, and the minors.

Why pitch him 70 innings when he can throw 200? Would you put Johan Santana in the pen? Or Sabathia? Or Halladay? I bet they could all be great relievers.

lol AJ Moneybags. I love Blue Jays fans because they're so grossly misinformed. You really think Burnett went to the Blue Jays in the first place for any reason other than the fact that they offered FAR more money and guaranteed years than any other team? 5 years, $55M was way more than anyone else offered, and they gave him an out clause. Now somehow because he chased the money again, and went to a team more likely to be competitive, he's a money grubbing jerk.

How's that huge BJ Ryan contract working out btw

The Rays had a lot of really good young players they'd stockpiled over the years who were finally coming into their own.

The Blue Jays are different - they have a bunch of already established players who are performing over their established levels.

The difference is the Rays had a really great pitching staff.

The Jays are just getting by right now because nobody has really seen their young guys yet.

I don't think Scott Richmond is going to have a 3.29 ERA at the end of the year and I'm not exactly ready to award a Cy Young to Romero or Cecil yet.

Aaron Hill has no business hitting 350+, and I highly doubt Rolen and Wells are going to hold up all season with as injury prone as they are.

They've had by far the easiest schedule in the majors so far and haven't even played the Red Sox yet.

The Rays are a better team.
