I'm not really a proponent of violence, but it'd be nice if he tried to understand how what he said was terrible phrasing (assuming he truly doesn't know better). I guess the whole reason I was being "mean" yesterday was because of all the casual race related remarks, or the unchecked sexism. I was even starting to feel bad for him but then he went on to objectify women in another thread, AGAIN. I kind of think he doesn't fully realize how his words can be misconstrued, though. Lashing out is pointless in general, so I guess I do feel bad if I was perceived that way.

mansplaining is a thing, so is whitesplaining i'm sure (and womansplaining). it doesn't condemn a group, it lets the person doing it know that they are speaking about something that doesn't affect them and that they can't really understand because of their status. it's explaining to someone who is oppressed or otherwise maligned from the perspective of the person who isn't

I seriously doubt that's the case in first world countries anymore, though. Women on average earn 8% more than men in 50 major cities in the US, says a study that I read and will link you to.
Dude, women are burnt in India. Google sati. Might say that it's illegal, because it is, but people still do it. They're highly oppressed in the middle east, I honestly feel these issues need to be addressed.
