if he keeps it up i think it does (i mean it doesn't change it, but eventually someone's gotta earn forgiveness). i wanted him gone, man. i really did. but he's totally turned a new leaf. i mean my god his point total is bigger than his penalty minute total.

it very well may be that he is cleaning up his game.. still, he very likely ended Marc Savard's career. for me, it'd take 2 or 3 complete seasons of it to say yeah, the long-standing cheap shot artist has cleaned up his game. and it wouldn't excuse any of his past actions. let's not go giving him the lady bing just yet

i mean sure. and that is awful. and i'm not defending it. but pacioretty's career (or, you know, life) could have been over after the chara shot and i don't see nearly as many people calling for him to be kicked out of hockey for life (although maybe that's because i'm not looking).

i'm not defending cooke's hit on savard at all. i just think it was a bad hit + unfortunate circumstances.

and if he reverts, i'll call for the pens to axe him again. which they would most assuredly do.

6-0 woo! Timmy T's 28th shut-out. 30 will be cool.

Happy the Bruins are on a win streak like this... so many people were talking crap before we had even played 10 games. Obviously criticism is expected if the team is playing shit but I kept hearing that last year was luck, and they are not a great team or whatever... people talking about trading and firing people before the season has barely begun is just way to extreme.

Granted the last two teams we played are basically the worst teams in the NHL right now, but thats ok. We'll see what happens when we revisit montreal and buffalo next week, hopefully they can make it 10 straight that would be nice.

I agree. I tire of the Crosby oversaturation in the hockey media but he is undoubtedly the most important name in the game. Really curious to see if the Isles come out and play him physical or lay back not wanting to be the ones who cripple him again. I'm no Pens fan but it's good to see him back in the game.

I hope every team in the league targets his head. I want him as a pathetic, drooling vegetable. If him and Pronger could run into each other awkwardly and die on the ice, I'd call it the greatest day in sports history.

jealous much?

so pissed i had to miss it, but i just saw the clips of all his points.

if they stay healthy, they are going to be very, very hard to beat in the playoffs.

yeah was pipe dreaming on Schneider as I'm convinced he will be playing goal for VAN in the playoffs.

Bernier is a possibility but Yzerman doesn't seem to want to trade draft picks or high prospects and I'm not sure there is anything untouchable on the TB roster that would intrigue LA. Looks like we're stuck with old man Rollie and Garon

would it be fun to go to an NHL game alone or just a total disaster? i was thinking of getting a ticket to see the devils play the penguins on new year's eve but i mean its kind of deflating to think about. maybe just buy two tickets and say the empty seat next to me was for my fiance who died two weeks ago
it could at least not be as pathetic as spending the whole day alone in my room

probably not unless eulogy will drive up from dc but i don't need to derail another thread with my whining just trust that i am not exaggerating
i just wanna see the best players play (i'm assuming right now the penguins have them, i just really stopped following the nhl like three seasons ago) and not spend all my time moping about not doing stuff

hopefully the devils beat them (unlikely) and i get to high five some drunk dudes
better see if the brodeur jersey fits

Well, as I've been saying for years, the Captials aren't winning a Stanley cup until they drop Boudreau because HE DOESN'T GET THEM TO EVEN PRETEND TO PLAY DEFENSE!!

He reminds me alot of young Steve Yzerman -- all about scoring AND DOESN'T EVEN PRETEND TO PLAY DEFENSE. If he finds a coach that will convince him to win he has to be a legitimate two way player, than he can win some Cups. The caps are just idiots for going with Boudreau this long.

Picking up a former enforcer who doesn't even have AHL experience coaching worries me.

i mean i'm exaggerating because i hate the caps

but i really do think he has some fundamental issues that a new coach won't be able to resolve. he doesn't appear to have any of the intangibles necessary to lift a team to the next level.

which is unprovable, wishy-washy bullshit, but it's the impression i get.
