Sadly for me, tebbers, spending thousands of dollars on therapy is not middle class. It's probably more like small town trash with a family history of drug addiction frightened about her children's futures, more than anything else...

Preemptively spending money on therapy for your kids on the off chance that they'll become a drug addict is not middle class how

I've started spending money on therapy because of things I've picked up in my own children, that my parents ignored in my brother, and in me.
I'm not preemptively getting therapy for them, I'm educating them, making them aware of the things that professionals can help us with, if we're having trouble. And it has helped our family a lot, to do that. So far. |

Dude you heard her, she doesn't have a second property to sell of further down the line, therefore she isn't middle class.

This is completely untrue in Sydney. Good schools here are usually the opposite - the all white schools are usually pretty bogan, and the good schools are full of the children of Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Pakistani & Indian immigrants who value education above owning flashy cars, boats etc.
This is the website of the best performing school in N.S.W: http://www.jamesruse.nsw.edu.au Here is one from where we used to live, that is homogenized white: http://www.nararavaly-h.schools.nsw.edu.au/gallery This is exactly what I'm talking about, with the middle classes of much more populous Asian countries out bidding local, Australian born people. Who are then forced out into the regions. 'Cause you know, rather than buy something smaller, they go for the same McMansion, but just a 1.5 hour drive from downtown. No problem if you're a bogan that loves driving on freeways, over the speed limit though!! But yeah. Homogenized white is not what we are after at all, down here... |

The whole "I'm not middle class because I know people who have more money than me" thing is so egregiously awful.

I refrained from saying anything myself but on top of his middle class salary equivalent pension, all his assets are worth easily a few hundreds of thousands probably. He's comfortably middle class. It was pretty offensive. I don't get it too because he has at least one son with mental health problems who is factually poor. Not to mention my dad's family WERE very poor when they were growing up so he has to realise the difference between his current lifestyle and the one of his youth. I guess it's been too long. Probably he was used to a different lifestyle when he worked and suddenly not being able to get a new car every five years means he must be poor. It's weird to see how some people's own perceptions of their lifestyle are completely skewed. |

I wonder about parents and their relationship wrt letting their kids in on the financial aspect.
My dad's dad never once let him or his sisters know how much he made or had. Even to this day my dad's mom is very hush about how much she has or will leave to them. (she lives in CA and does not seem to be a spender and i think my dad has no clue what to expect.) My parents told and showed us the ebb and flow of our finances. Dad worked a seasonal type job (laying floors) so we were up and down my whole life (lower middle class to poor). B's mom sat her down and showed her income to bills ratio so she knew very well they had no money - don't ask for anything because we dont have it. We'll probably do a mixture of both. I don't want V to worry like i did (i took our poor status harder than most) but she also needs to know what to expect. Having said that, B and I together make more than enough to keep V confortable. |

i have paid like 80 dollars to my student debt after ten years and my credit is average and i just keep calling them every six months to make a deferrment. last time they sent me an email that i just had to reply YES to in order to get it deferred
i'm counting on a great depression like collapse sometime in the next now to 20 years so f paying my loans lol and given how fat i've been for how long i've been fat i'll probably not make it to 70 and maybe not 60 (hopefully). got cancer and heart attacks in the fams. i'm definitely not going to fight cancer very long hahaha on average this generation is educated more and paid less than the previous ones, and then the gen xers the gen joneses and the boomers tell us we're entitled and ungrateful. grateful for what you motherfucking pieces of shit i mean for real this assumption of life is extant since 1950, just remember that folks. and look at the damage we've done already. When you realize that there's a name and a description for this condition that you thought was insanity, you've identified the problem, and now you can do something about it.
