fuck off? all i asked is what you're even trying to argue in this thread.

who needs some angry "not poor" white boy barking what it means to be middle class. you've made up some ground-rules in your head and make the rest up as you go along. i'm not passive-aggressive. you're just full of shit and aggressive.

yes. i wanted to say this. back home our neighbor is clearly poor. He still has horses. Such a thing as poor farmers. even owning land...i mean he can barely pay the taxes on it. sure if he sells it ok but then what... id say hes lower class while he owns the land..if he sells it maybe he makes between 50 to 100 thousand dollars..which is not poor..but then what? He's out of a living and you can barely buy a house with that and that doesn't get your far nowadays.

It's definitely not upper middle or upper to own a few horses.

guess I should have specified what horse owners I meant - dressage horses, warmblood.

i grew up in west boca raton, the poorest part of it is a trailer park and that's still middle or middle-lower at the worst

my parents made about 80-90k together. i had multiple music lessons, played softball, decent schools in the area, pool in the back yard, two cars, etc. 4 bedroom house.

my parents invested very well, had stock in microsoft and yahoo etc in the early 90s before they blew up. so we probably reached middle-upper class even though neither of them had middle-upper class salaries.

after the housing market crash and my parents getting divorced, my dad has no money (i'm not going to say "poor" because he's been able to use credit cards and stuff he already had to get him through the rough times). my mom im not really sure, she def doesn't have a ton of money but she should be good in retirement. also her boyfriend/not-husband hasnt worked in a long time, had a good pension from some company, so together they are ok.

i live on about 20k a year, minus 6k in medical expenses. im not "poor" because i have my mom to fall back on if i need it and because im in the college system now and have student loans. but if i had never had the background i had, right now i'd prob be fucked. being poor is not just about how much money you make. i live in about a 250sq ft apartment with $500 rent including everything, too. that helps a lot. if i had to pay more things would be a lot harder. can i also just rep social security disability for a minute, it totally helped me and kept me from becoming homeless when I was extremely mentally ill. without it i would probably would not have made it through that. government got it right.

Still working through this amazing thread but I just wanted to say that I was at Target and my battery was dead. I didn't have my cables with me for some reason and some dude asked me if I needed help. I told him what was what and he went in Target and bought me a set and then like, LET ME HAVE THEM.

Pretty nice dude.
