Love's Bizarre Antics at Strummer Funeral


Rock widow Courtney Love upset friends and family of late punk rocker Joe Strummer with some extreme behavior at his funeral service.

The singer and actress turned up at the West London funeral of the former Clash singer on Monday only to be refused entry to the private crematorium.

When she was eventually let in, after much protestation, Love horrified onlookers by throwing herself on the coffin, and was pulled off by British TV presenter Mark Lamaar and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde.

A source says, "Joe's family and friends looked on horrified. It was as if she was trying to upstage everybody.

"Even when she was outside, she made sure everyone was looking at her, waving her umbrella in front of her face every so often."

Love, 38, appeared with Strummer in the 1987 film Straight To Hell and is in London to take over the role of Lady Macbeth at the Albery Theater alongside Sean Bean.

"London Calling" singer Strummer died at age 50 on December 23 in Somerset from a heart attack.

i remember watching a "celebrities behaving badly". At the end of some awards ceremony, much to russel crowes displeasure, she kept latching on to him and trying to get in all his photos.
She then kept signalling him as his limo was pulling away, crowe un-wound his window and revealed he had some blonde girl with him.

Good god. I used to be a fan of Courtneys, and i think that part of who she is is doing stupid shit just to cause a stir. Singing REM at the golden globes and saying they should have won, throwing her makeup at Madonna, chasing that woman who wrote an article about her she didn't like, those things are all just typically Courtney and i can deal with them. But this, wow, she's really crossed the line. That was an incredibly awful, rude thing to do. It's Joe fucking Strummers funeral Courtney, there was NO need for that. It's almost as if since the camera aren't on her all the time anymore she has to top herself in stupid stunts to get back in the limelight. Thats enough for me though. Fuck you Courtney. I'd also like to see what the hole message boards say about this, because there's no defending the bitch this time.

I've always felt bad for her. I mean maybe Courtney is a great mom or whatever, but just imagine....One, your dad is Kurt Cobain, a suicidal musician idolized by an entire generation, whom you didn't even get to know.
