my favourite fade out is on Oceania's title track. Just about to build up to a nice guitar jam and it just cuts out and murders the mood of the album.

FUCK!

It's the only part of oceania where I kind of really begin to feel a track, bobbing my head and digging it, comes off a nice dirty solo and CUTS OUT!

fuck you billy.

A better question: have the Pumkins ever attempted the dreaded Live Fade Out?
Metallica had good fade outs, if I recall correctly. Fade outs are so...80's.

Some songs shouldn't end, I think.

Take a day / Plant some trees / May they shade you from me / May your children play beneath

Great stuff. Very powerful, but I like "For Martha" even more and I don't think either are their best songs. I would rank them high though.

Objectively speaking, though

the best song that Billy ever wrote was 1979
