I've actually raised my rating on this lp from a 2.5 to a solid 3/10.
Way to go Pumpkins, you really hit the ball out of the park on this one. |

Can someone who bought the album scan/photograph the pictures of all the band members as art deco paintings? I've only been listening to it on Spotify but I'm super curious about the artwork

Anyone who voted over 7 on this poll will not have their views taken into account, because: fuck you.

It's basically Monuments but feels more genuine. Not offensively mundane but not particularly interesting. I want to hear more guitar dynamics between Billy, James, and Jeff in the studio. Those three are amazing together.
I would rather listen to a 10 minute improvised Porcelina than anything from Shiny. Billy won't stop chasing pop. Also, it's only 8 short songs. Repetitive songs. Solara sounds like it was written to sell the eponymous vehicle by Toyota (remember FEE LA LO?). It's the same kind of shit but 10 years later. None of this stuff aside from Silvery Sometimes is significantly better than anything from Zeitgeist or even Zwan for that matter. But that's how it's been the last 10 years. Each album produces one song that I actually care to listen to more than once. Shiny is no different in that regard. Which is a shame now that James is back and KILLING IT live. Hopefully the debate regarding his importance is over now. Completely different live band with James. And Jimmy of course but he's been around more often than not. Genuine, because they had three guitars live recorded simultanously.

Monuments had two songs I liked. This has four. So I guess it's twice as good!
