I like it. Sounds cool the way it is, just a chorus and no drums. Kinda like a nice little interlude.

I finally started a bandcamp page and uploaded a collection of songs from 2012.

https://sweetrocket.bandcamp.com/releases

It's a weird freaky folky album.

I started writting an experimental/folk album called "With Black Wings to Hold You" in August 2011. I got really obsessed and stressed and never finished it so less than half of the songs got recorded. A few of the songs are here coupled with songs I recorded with my brother and our friend Baker. Some of it is really cringey but there are some moments I really like. Here's some back-ground:

"Hide" is the most rocking song on here.

"Dreamboat Captain" is one of my favorites and one of the best sounding recordings I've ever made. It probably has the most overdubs out of any of them.

"Seadogs" was the first song we recorded at The Sprout House.

"Little Baby Spider" is another one of my favorites.

"Bells & Boots" was a rare time when we all 3 played guitar.

"Goldenboy" another favorite.

"The Heart In My Home" kinda slow

"Julep" another favorite, lots of pickin' and overdubs.

"Rebel Walkin" I tried to get my brother to play on it but he didn't give a damn.

"Girl On a Ranch" was written by us with two other friends as a group effort. A sad slow one. Baker hates it now and swears he had nothing to do with it.

"Smokey Moon" my dad played bass on it.

"Silvertongue Sugareyes" one of the songs from the unfinished album.

"Rigamarole" weird interlude.

"Dragonboy" from the unfinished album too

"Oh, Inebriated Soul" written and recorded in one day and vocals the next day.

"Strange Weather Forever and Ever" this one didn't turn out the way I wanted it to.

"So Long Sweet Thing" a rare piano performance from me done in one day.

"Godhead" oldest of the bunch, the beginning and end was recorded before I started using Audacity and the middle was taken out and redone on Audacity. This was sort of how the album would have sounded like.

"Rock the Show" a post-punk noise freakout improv recorded in one day with our friend Brad on drums...he is not a drummer.

"Always" a dumb indie pop song and one of the first songs we wrote together as a trio.

Well, there it is.

Thanks man.

Just checking out your stuff right now. Hide sounds dope man. I like the vocals, guys got good pitch. Sorta gives off a bit of a Tripping Daisy vibe.

havent heard of that band in a long time. It was totally weird how they reached nearly beatlemania level here in Quebec. Well not quite ok but yeah for like a second they were stupidly huge here. I remember musiqueplus gave them a special when they came and like there were screaming girls asking for autographs....it was like being big in japan.

Hide is one of the songs that most people seem to like. I got kinda blown out on it from playing it so much. We made a video for it too, it's pretty silly.

It was actually the singer, the bassist and their original drummer, so pretty much the core of Tripping Daisy turned into the Polyphonic Spree.

Check out their last album Jesus Hits Like The Atom Bomb, which was a complete commercial failure and got them dropped from their label. It is fucking great.

Listening to this now... This is really good!

Kinda reminds me more of Dr Dog than Tripping Daisy.

Here's some stuff we did in 2013, a little heavier/noisier/electric:

heh crazy. I was looking thru an old Edgefest 98 tour program and Tripping Daisy was featured and the only show that they were playing at was in Montreal. Guess the promoter got on em board for that reason alone. All of the other acts were playing several shows, if not all on the tour.

Yeah, didn't they end Tripping Daisy because one of the members died or something?

Jesus hits like an atom bomb is fantastic though. About the movies is still one of my favorite songs. Polyphonic Spree actually dusts that track off at rare times to perform live

Yeah Trots, we all know that you don't think it's cool to like any of the bands that were big in the mainstream during the 90's.

Yeah, he ODd the summer I discovered them. ;_;

I just saw Polyphonic Spree a few months ago, and they opened with the song "Tragiverse" from the last Tripping Daisy album (which is also excellent, a slightly more bare-bones version of Jesus Hits), one of my personal favorites. I was fucking freaking out!

in any case, a rough mix of a song that's goin on an ep we're finally going to be able to finish, after finally getting the required stems and whatnot we'd recorded at someone's studio this summer... been a completely overdrawn process for the most part but at least we're able to get it done now

already realize there's "too much bass" and whatnot but any other criticisms/suggestions on or for the actual mix as it is so far are appreciated
I liked the funky bass here, and there was this fill the drummer did early on with like a random block or chime or something else unexpected just thrown in. Loved that.

Again this is meant to have vocals. But the girl on the picture is back in philly with my microphone...
This is alright, but it needs vocals for sure. Also not much of a fan of the fake drums, but to each his own.

They sound pretty real to me..i did give them a big 80s reverb though.Which probably makes them sound a bit more fake. Essentially they're real drum samples though. I mean i think we're pretty far from a beatbox still..

I don't play drums anyway and i'm not exactly at a stage to find a drummer so...itll be this way until maybe someday we play live.
