The dust has settled and Billy recouped his wrestling losses, time to patch things up and get her back!

She was always my favorite member of the band growing up.

She's an alternative rock icon. She deserves to be onstage.

I really wish she'd join *a* band. Although Billy would probably still diss her.

"Oh she used in be in SP, but now she's travelling in a white van"

Yeah, it'd probably do her some good to be out and about rocking out again too.

I think her heart lies in SP though. Who knows, a lot of money would be in play if she rejoined. It makes too much sense for Corgan not to make it happen.

I still think she should have taken the offer corgan gave her. It wasn’t unreasonable.. how he did it was unfair though. But she could have proven herself, and at its best she’d still be on stage with them right now.

Billy's offer would have made more sense in 2016 on the In Plainsong tour if he had offered D'arcy to play as a guest for a few shows like James did. It would have made sense for that tour since it was an intimate thing and it wasn't being pushed as a big hits reunion tour with a lot of money involved.

It was insulting after he'd spent two years teasing a full original lineup reunion in the media, and her knowing based on the preliminary offer she'd gotten how much James and Jimmy would make. Billy wanting to see D'arcy, and see her play, after so long makes sense, but like I've said a million times, if he wanted that to happen, why not do it before ever entering into million dollar Live Nation contract negotiations?

If Billy could provide specific examples of himself trying to schedule band meetings and rehearsals in 2016/2017 prior to any Live Nation negotiations and D'arcy refused to show up, I'd understand his POV a lot more. We haven't gotten any specific examples at all from him, only vague recollections. D'arcy provided us with text message conversations and specific stories about phone calls they had.

I am curious to hear more about Billy reaching out to D'arcy about going to one of his solo shows. From what D'arcy seemed to say, he seemed to vaguely throw it out there without mentioning a specific show, and it never happened.

Exactly man. Billy wasn't transparent at all. He strung her along while being misleading like a weasel... Then when it came to brass-tax, he offered to let her come on up and play a couple songs in order to sell the tour as a real reunion. As always, it was all about Billy and he had the horse before the cart because he was desperate for the cash.

He could've let this come together organically and started small but he wanted the money. Plain and simple.

When D’Arcy was in the band she wielded a lot of power and kept him in check. That’s the role she still wanted to play but Billy was not having it. He expects his band mates to be faithful employees of SP inc and tow the company line. His vague, non-commital way of inviting D’Arxy back was an attempt at sidestepping the issue of her role in the band, and he hoped she would just go along. DArcy being D’Arcy, she pressed him, and eventually he snapped and the real Billy came out in the “you deserve your face on a t shirt” comment.

I give D’Arcy a lot of credit for having the balls to push Billy the way she did. She chose her integrity over the allure of an arena tour and a huge payday. That’s why she’s fucking awesome. Not many people could do that. I’m a bassist...and if Billy called me tomorrow I’d probably immediately stop trashing him on Netphoria and deal with his shit in order to make tons of money and have the rare experience of being a genuine rock star. How many people get to play arenas as their JOB?? D’Arcy has real values and real guts. And the absence of someone like her in his life has led to a lot of horribly indulgent and ill advised decisions (i.e., Siddhartha.)

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: even in her absence, she brought the best out of Billy during this tour. Her decision to leak those texts scared the fucking shit out of him and made him pull things together in a way that he hasn’t been able to do in many years. D’Arcy will always be the BASS and the HEART of SP.

Unfortunately for the band these days timing is everything and I don’t think the band had the time to start small so Darcy could catch up, nor were they willing to do that given current life circumstances. This isn’t 1999 where they can just casually drop a club tour and succeed with that. Only a small amount of fans would’ve been interested in that.

He offered for HER to starts small while the other 3 did the heavy lifting. He told her if it works, future looks good. That was all in the texts, too. I honestly think they came up with a situation that’d work for everyone the best way they could.

and I agree, Darcy calling him out for past abuses did make him get his shot in order.

He never did sue her or threaten her with lawyers, did he?

It's weird to me that D'arcy only got in contact with Billy the two years.
Why did James refuse to call her back?
And Jimmy still hasn't spoken to her since 1999?

Did James and Jimmy have an agreement with Billy Corgan that he could handle the situation with her alone?

Because, what he likes to call his family, is still more his brand with employees, he may handle like a godfather, a Trump...

If you feel like drinking yourself to death, take a shot every time someone revives the topic of D'arcy not being in the reunion

Question about D'arcy. I don't mean this to be insulting towards her at all, it's just an inquiry. I remember there were rumors around the time she left the band that she hooked up with Mickey Rourke and he convinced her to quit SP to pursue acting. Supposedly he also convinced her to get plastic surgery. Does anyone know there was any truth to any of that?

The saying is "putting the cart before the horse." If you put the horse in front of the cart... well... that's what you do with a horse, so there's no saying there.
