For the longest time he just did his grunge-report site without any artists really doing promotion or interviews with him, and once he changed it to alternativenation.net it was like instantly all these big time interviews were lined up and didn't stop. I think his family's well off. They probably decided at that point to hook him up with some kind of agency that gets him access to recording artists. It really didn't seem like an organic growth if you followed his site the whole time.

I bet he gets paid jack-shit

What the fucks wrong with some of you guys? I get that we're all super jaded with Billy Corgan. I mean, the guy was one of the most prolific, genius songwriters of our formative years who just seemingly lost it overnight. I get it, it leaves a bitter disappointing taste in the mouth...

But come on, Disarms one of his best fucking songs of his career. Worst song on Siamese Dream? You guys are trolling right?

I could and would happily do a much better job at doing the click-bait rock-site thing that they're going for and for free to boot. The sites actually gaining notoriety and has a pretty big following, but they have too many hacks on their staff who have no filters and don't really understand the art of it all.

Brett, if you see this, check my DIDJA know thread. I can write countless shit like that in a more serious tone to fit the filler mode on your website... You need a feature like that amidst all of your rock-TMZ sensationalism. It adds some truthful "well who knew" amongst the misleading article titles.

I have a lot of trouble seeing anything but Quiet as the weakest song on the album.

there are no bad songs on Siamese Dream

having said that, Quiet is the least good. It's the BWBW of SD.

"Billy Corgan Is Recording a New Solo Album
By Calum Slingerland
Published Jul 18, 2016

Not far removed from completing the "In Plainsong" tour with the Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan is now at work on a new solo album.

As you can see below, Instagram posts from the Veronicas' Jessica Origliasso and Corgan's collaborator Linda Strawberry confirm that Corgan is at work in Los Angeles on new material. Alternative Nation also points out that Corgan was asked at a Pumpkins VIP meet-and-greet session back in April if the band would ever do an acoustic album, upon which he revealed his plans to go it alone.

"I would say right now I would probably lean towards making a solo album, which the irony would be everybody that was on stage in Chicago would probably be on the album," he said. "I just don't think a Smashing Pumpkins acoustic album is going to work right now, because the expectation is we're going to go back to playing epic flaming rock, and I don't have a problem with that. But if I said, 'Well, I want to do this first, and put it out, and then we're going to do that.'"

He continued: "If people don't like that, they're not going to want to hear the flaming rock album. It's just the way it works, it's maddening. The one thing you realize in this journey is you have nothing in the bank account, every time is the first time. Right now is the best period the band has had probably since 1997 or 1998."

Corgan's first and only solo record was the electronic-leaning TheFutureEmbrace, which was released in 2005 through Reprise."

Excellent. I hope the first solo album is some type of jumping off point since that seemed to be a follow-up to his unofficial solo album -- Adore. If, as he menioned, Adore was where he was at pre-Gish, then I'm looking forward to a sonic landscape that extends the mood and feel of all that music into this release.

That said, if he squeezes out even two more songs as good as The Camera Eye and Now and Then, it's all good.

i actually have somewhat of a good feeling about this one.
it seems to be what corginator genuinely wants to do, that's a good sign. i won't be expecting much, if it even comes out at all, but something tells me this will be better than all those shitty "sp" turds he's been coming out with.
