See it's funny because it's too obvious.

OR something.

How utterly common of you.

I as a general rule don't like much classic rock at all but The Who i can take.

The secret weapon was Enstwistle though. For better or worse he changed what was expected of bassists in rock (he was actually by far the most accomplished musician in the band, he played other instruments too). And if i can bring out the bassist nerd in me, best tone in classic rock (back when generally, for my money anyway, bass sounded like shit).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80dsyo2Ox-0

It's hard NOT to like his basslines regardless of how you feel about more technical playing (i dont care for it much myself generally). His style was unique then. And he did it all just standing there like he didn't give a shit while Townsend jumped about and Daltrey swung his mic around. Actually probably why he didn't move. It seemed like a dangerous stage to be on. Fuck you guys i'll just stay here and play bass if you don't mind.

Anyway, it IS one of those rare meetings of four individuals where none is a weak link producing something not greater then the sum of its part but actually as great as the sum of its parts (does that make sense?)

their early stuff is nothing special and after moon died it was bad as well, but Tommy, Who's Next, Quadrophenia are top tier albums.

Keith Moons just fantastic. Has to definitely be in my top 3 favorite fave drummers behind JC and Peart.

One of my favorite all time drum moments is just that simple fill during the Pinball Wizard pre-chorus. Just brilliant

I dunno, it's hard to say. If you read his autobiography he makes a strong case for his argument of "research".

Apparently he was a victim of childhood sexual abuse and was outraged during the early days of the internet when he found out that tons of that type of shit was available to view online. Apparently he wrote articles about it before hand too and at the time was working on an article about how credit card providers willingly profit from it.

Incredibly naive behavior, but no-one's ever said that Rockstars were the brightest stars in the sky.

Just imagine being alive in 71 and buying the record, and setting the needle to your vinyl and hearing that shit blast out for the first time.

I guess. But guitar driven music has been played out to death. Maybe if I was into electronica or something, but it just doesn't do anything for me.
