Default End Times Tour 2015

Am I alone in thinking this might be the best post-2000 tour? Not necessarily the best setlist-wise, but the vibe felt and still feels closer to that sweet spot of 96-97 than any other tour since 2005 (to me at least).

I really dug how the backdrop was just some curtains and lights, and that Billy wasn't wearing any goofy costumes. Billy turned on the old voice for some of the songs too. And then obviously Jimmy jumping on like a month before it started made all the difference. What's crazy too is that they were pretty bad just a few months before when they still had Wilk on drums.

Would have been optimal to have James of course, but this tour was pretty great imo.

i thought it was totally unremarkable

winter 2018 or fall 2019 were the best this century

dolls were pretty cool and honestly in retrospect the dumb costumes add character and """rock mystique"""

You think that's a "costume?" Do you doubt Corgan's piety?

Also, my favourite thing about "The End Times Tour" is the fact that two wealthy '90s alt-rock titans couldn't be arsed to hire an actual graphic designer.

Yeah his dance moves during Ava Adore are second to none.

Saw them on this tour and it was by far the worst SP show I’ve seen. They phoned in a greatest hits setlist to a half empty arena. Jimmy playing all the songs on autopilot like it required no effort at all and he could do this shit in his sleep. The show I saw on the Oceania tour with Byrne was actually far better.

I saw them in 2010 (Brazil, TbK tour), Monuments tour and Reunion tour (England) and Shiny tour (Holland). I enjoyed them all, but the Amsterdam concert was the best in my opinion. The band seem to be enjoying themselves and it was a perfect mix of a more intimate concert (it was a small-ish venue) and grandiosity.

Caught that tour in Irvine - last show I saw at a killer venue by my house before it got bulldozed.

Helluva an ending to the show as seen below. But as a parallel to that other thread with the talk about the Monuments era lineup, somehow this era was more uncertain and depressing than the Oceania stuff. At least with Oceania you thought there was some artistic vision going on. Having Jack on that stage without the five piece with James to distract you... man, that was rough. Just zero stage presence and he's all over there doing his thing was somehow distracting from the fact that Jimmy was back and running full tilt... alas, yeah, Geek:

I think this was the first tour he played to one actually. I'm trying to find the interview, but I recall that he came to prefer playing to one while he was out of the band and suggested the idea to Corgan.

Jimmy being on the click shows that he's really bought into WPCs vision and is truly dedicated to making SP the most boring band imaginable.

i didn't mind JC being on a click 'cause it meant we finally got versions of the Adore-era stuff with the actual "bloops & bleeps"

Yes you are alone. This tour was trash. I saw them at a pretty cool venue too but Manson was having a rare good night and the Pumpkins weren’t (and kept blowing the breaker at the venue). Manson embarrassed the Pumpkins and that was the symbolic end of my fandom

We didn’t get an encore because he had a little hissy fit

I saw them at Jones Beach and actually thought they put on a great show. Billy seemed into it as he was having fun ripping into some drunk and annoying fans. They did a blistering version of United States. As for Manson, he felt a little off that night. He wasn't horrible, but nothing amazing. Pumpkins had more energy and their sound was way better. Jones Beach's sound can be pretty shitty, especially higher seats and on windy days. It's outdoors and literally on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean.

Jimmy playing to a click is literally insane.

Gotta love how they're "competing at the highest levels" by putting in the least amount of effort as a band as they can.
