I'd consider myself pretty far off from that. The most I'm willing to go to bat for Bill on this is that he's never struck me as overtly racist, just really ill-informed and ignorant.

He's still in love with the beauty of Americana and shit, Cotillons was all about romanticizing that perspoective. I don't think he's ever tried to make himself aware of the worst aspects of US history, or at worst he's willingly turned a blind eye to it.

Like, I read his BLM = KKK statement as he sees protesters as militant, the stereotypical angry black person, and he's afraid it's secretly about supremacy or some shit. He doesn't get the point and I'd like to think that maybe the current events might, just might worm their way through that skull of his and maybe get him to question his perspective.

I keep telling myself one day I'll explore more stand up comedians. I love George Carlin. I like what I've heard from Dave Chappelle (not always stand up though) and Bill Hicks. For more modern people I've briefly listened to stand up bits of, I liked Michael Che from SNL. Melissa Villaseñor from SNL is adorable and funny too. I'll have to check out Patrice O'Neal whenever I finally decide to really start exploring standup in depth. Do you have any other recommendations?
