I think the last 3 tracks of Abbey Road are easily the weakest on any Beatles output really ruins that album for me

my all time fav is probably Abbey Road or the White Album. On any given day I could have a different favorite Beatles album though. Beatles for Sale is REALLY underrated and I probably like Rubber Soul more than Revolver |

For sure help. Read an interview in which John said he wrote help because he was waking and baking and he needed help.

our people tell the tale of how in 1964 Bob Dylan rolled a joint and handed it to Ringo, and not realizing he was supposed to pass it, Ringo smoked the whole thing himself. Dylan then rolled four more joints for the rest of them and a night of hilarity ensued.

In the let it be film they show ringo bashfully showing george octopuses garden on piano. george sits down and transforms the song for him. it's hilarious.
ringo looked fucked up during that era. dark circles around his eyes and shit. |

I know it's not fashionable anymore and that he wasn't as good a songwriter as Paul, and was a pretty shitty human being unlike George but I can't help being a John fan. Maybe because he wasn't the best, and he was shitty and broken.

we can start with him pissing off a balcony onto the heads of some nuns walking down the street and work our way out from there
This is just a guess, but I think "music fans in general" might favor John, but people who are actually Beatles fans are probably split pretty evenly between John and Paul, especially among older people. Remember that Lennon didn't achieve this kind of legendary peace man cultural figure status until after the Beatles |

It's a testament to the melody that once you've heard a good Paul song it's basically imprinted onto your mind forever
But it's not the most vital music to me, I'm not transcending space and time like with Tomorrow Never Knows |

It contributed sure but the song itself and concept was written by Lennon by himself who was interested in ego death

i know it's ironic coming from me as i started this thread, but it's null to try to figure out which of the two (John and Paul) made a particular song really great, because it's simply the juxtaposing of the two of them that made those songs be so good. their joint decision making and crafting. they enhanced each other and played perfectly into each others' strengths and weaknesses as musicians and writers.

what's cool about george is that he was able to color it all in and blend it together. |

naaaaw man what are you talking about, the White Album is so great exactly because of its sprawling diversity. in fact i love its 'snapshot in time' charm and how it depicts an enormously talented band pulling apart. john and paul delivered such beautiful individual songs that made each of their individual voices become more pronounced, after the whole world got to know them through their collaborative efforts. that's not to say all the songs are brilliant but the weak ones are kinda part of the trip. i don't know about you but i love "why don't we do it in the road"

I don't even like the song (the original itself) so DK making it a disaster makes it a great listen
I posted it as a joke though |

Sun King ->Mr. Mustard ->Polythene Pam
Is a trilogy that's not to be fucked with then it hits She Came in Through which keeps the pacing and it's an ok song nothing to write home about But then you hit those last 3 tracks and the album dies Golden Slumbers and Carry that Weight are such a drag (both Paul songs that fucker) The End can't save it there's some boring guitar noodling I like "Her Majesty" though for what it is |

I would say Abbey Road is their most consistent album. There is no filler. Even Ringo's song on it is good.
