Alarm set for 6:38.
I try to be in bed at 11:15 and asleep by 11:30. On weekends I'm usually awake by 7:30 at the latest. |

I like to get up an hour before hand and arrive 30 minutes early it only takes me like 15 minutes upon waking up to leave the house and I'm a 10 minute drive away
However if it's an early shift I will cut into that 30 minutes |

I was up until 2:00am last night and then back up at 6:50 to make porridge with cooked apple, wheatgerm, muscavado sugar, whole milk and cinnamon for the 12 year old. Plus rooibos tea with whole milk and honey. He prefers a sweet breakfast. #momlife
The 8 year old was up so I served some for him but he politely refused the porridge after drinking the tea. Because he usually waits until we leave, and then wakes up my husband and convinces him to take him out to a cafe for breakfast by saying "I've had nothing to eat ". He was saving himself for a kaya toast set, I think. I wasn't ready to leave at 8:00, so I sent the 12 year old to the other side of the island by himself in a cab, to basketball. Private car ownership is still rare, here. Most kids his age have their own phones and just use uber. I don't like uber but by the end of the year I'm pretty sure he'll have a phone and will organise cabs for himself. It's kind of terrifying. He's growing up too fast. |

The earliest I have to start work is at 9am. Most days I have my alarm go off at 7:30am, and I usually "sleep in" until 8am and then get my ass into gear for getting ready.
The time I go to bed totally varies, but most nights I've been going to bed no later than midnight. I used to be a complete night owl, but in the last year or two I've found myself getting tired enough to go to bed at more reasonable hours. |

I'm not a morning person. It's just that sleeping in to me is like after 7:00 once I'm awake I have absolutely no chance of falling asleep and I get super uncomfortable lying in bed so I just toss and turn until I get fed up and then get out of bed. Everything is terrible. If I didn't have a job I'd probably be able to revert to staying up until 2:00 every night and waking up at 9:00 after a couple months. I just don't really sleep for long periods of time, which partially explains my eternal racoon eyes... |
