Yeah and bites aren't super common even when they're encountered but my GF did get bit twice in an apt complex on the same street, so I'm taking my infestation pretty serious. Both times she got bit it was 'cause the spider was hangin out in some jeans she left on the floor.

I put my bare foot in a shoe that had two scorpions inside once. Wasn't stung somehow. Miracles happen.

i was stung twice in one week by a bee (different culprit, of course) in high school. in one instance i just fell outside in the grass and when i went to push myself off the ground i was stung by a bee as his dying act. it was perfect timing.
never stung before or after and i'm the type who swats like crazy and aims to kill. the conservatory has bees everywhere and forget trying to take a relaxing lunch break outside. |

same here when i lived in texas. in my childhood bedroom i would occasionally see daddy long legs climbing my bedroom wall and i was okay with that. junebugs really grossed me out, though. in the mornings, when i had to walk in the backyard to feed the dogs, they were grouped on the back-porch making all kinds of noise.
but i do love a symphony of bugs. |

I was stung by a wasp last summer and the summer before. One of the times I was in the psych hospital and I told this grumpy patient named Chris that I'd been stung and he said, "Serves you right!" It's not like I'd antagonized it or anything. Jeez Chris

Man wasps! I stepped on one over Labor Day weekend and couldn't do anything but hold ice on it for like 36 hours! Incredibly painful

Also agreed to the symphony of bugs; it's amazing the tiny lil aliens can make such loud sounds. Sometimes the cicadas round here get loud enough to hurt the ears a lil bit |

that is in fact a myth. The daddy long legs thing. Also, many different types of arachnids are referred to as daddy longlegs (the term not being the proper one for any of them) and the ones most commonly called that in north america are actually not spiders but opiliones or more commonly, harvestmen, which is a different order of arachnids than spiders. In the order or harvestmen there are five suborders and many species but i am not sure what's the actual exact name of the north american "daddy longlegs"
