Crush with Eyeliner is one of my favorite songs lyrically. So great.

monster's like, right after they got super-big, tho

i thought up was later-year valid if only for the fact that bill berry had left by then, at least

whatev, i agree monster's a hidden classic - not too hard to realize why though

Sonic Youth
Dinosaur Jr.
Deftones
Modest Mouse
My Bloody Valentine
Mark Kozelek (Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon)

I've enjoyed the last albums by all these bands/artists.

It probably says more about me than the bands but i can't think of any in the bands i like. None whatsoever. It's pretty much all like...ten or so good years, then shit (or kinda shit anyway or at least average). Well those that didn't break up after a few records.

i don't find that i still listen to any of the bands from the 00's and was actually thinking of this earlier today. of all the bands that started in that decade, grizzly bear and deerhunter are the only two that I can think of off the top of my head that I still listen to and really enjoyed their last albums.

nobody said flaming lips yet, they're more a contender for this than radiohead i'd say

(though rh's best stuff is better, soft bulletin was more or less 20 years into their career. & i love yoshimi)

Agreed up until "more than Radiohead"

Basically that statement or any variation of it such as "better than Radiohead" is never true
