Tony Parker is one of the most exciting players in the NBA for me
Ridiculous speed, dead on shooting, ball handlin' and a-drivin'. Ridiculous skills
Plus he got that killer instinct. Final minute, opponents are scared when he has the ball

What I don't get though is how people go nuts for Tim Duncan
I mean yeah he inarguably one of the great centers, and gets the job done consistently, but has very little grace (still more than 9-21 FT shooting Howard, fucking joke)

also i mean the ft percentage thing is a thing towards the end of games but most of these dominant but bad ft centers would actually score less and get to the line less if they were better also you might be surprised to learn that the terrible shaq actually won 4 championships and was the most dominant player in the league for three of those
i know i couldnt believe it when i heard

duncan is a lousy free thrower too
the reason people get surprised by a dirk nowitzki or to use a non-euro like garnett is a real good shooter is because the ball is like a grapefruit to these guys so of course its hard to shoot consistently
i hate howard though hes a bigger flake than i am and he goes around exposing himself to porn stars

a) nice job knowing this nobody's name, i mean he is what, 12th player in one of the worst teams in the league?

b) he is a big deal to the local press. it's all so pathetically provincial. like, when i read about nba games online, the headline goes: "LAKERS BEAT GRIZZLIES; 4 PTS FOR CASSPI". and then you got at least 10 people in the comments asking the news site to quit fucking doing that because nobody cares

i'm kind of excluding shaq from all this because he was so unquestionably dominant in his day, he was almost allowed to have a weakness like this. plus, and i'm not sure i'm right about this - shaq seemed much bigger than dwight. the ball really was like a grape in his hand. howard is much more athletic and ripped, and i think there's no excuse for such an acclaimed and overpayed player to shoot so horribly

I agree with most of this but Tony's three point shot is iffy, usually below 30% for the year

his midrange shooting off the dribble is outrageous though, and the way he charges the lane is iversonesque.

well who is a graceful big man in today's game, or even going back to the 90s

i like him A LOT for not giving a single fuck about being famous or making money, he's kind of anti social which i identify with, and he's just a great all around player. there really isn't a single part of his game that you would expect from a center that is deficient.

tim walked away from an addidas sponsorship and a sprite endorsement deal, and i'm sure he's left a lot of national endorsement deals on the table because he just kind of hates it. he doesn't do any national commercials but he is a community kind of guy and does commercials for our local grocery chain headquartered in S.A. and one of the local car dealers and that's about it.

False.

If you're measuring him by guard and forward standards okay but he's 68% from the line for his career and has been shooting near or over 70% for the last few years, including 78% last year. (he's been practicing at his advanced age) that's fucking fine, in fact it's good for his position. He's not LaMarcus Aldridge from the stripe, but he's better than most bigs.

yes he's awful. all he can do is shoot threes, and not exceptionally at that. he'd be back in israel if he didn't manage to land on the cavaliers.

well, absolutely.

howard i think may be legitimately retarded, like one of those guys with a functional iq but it's still below 90. also nobody ever made him be a grown up, the press when he was a rook was just like OMGZ HE'S SO CHILDLIKE AND WHIMSICAL IT'S SWEET and i'm like "You know he's still technically a child..."

i have a pretty good feeling lately that this guy is going to bottom out really hard. i dunno if i already said this but Dwight says he's going to another team if the Lakers aren't Championship ready and it seems to me that he's so absolutely clueless that he doesn't realize that he's the fucking centerpiece.

I'm serious I'd like to do an IQ test on this dingleberry.

shaq wan't exactly a genius but i don't think he was legally retarded and understood that the championship rests on his shoulders

you know what's funny
i read that kobe said sees howard as the man to pass the legacy on to (paraphrasing but it was pretty close), and teach him how to be one of the true greats or whatever. i mean i guess it's fine all those sports writers like howard so much, with him being the absolute opposite of tim duncan in that regard - he likes the publicity and all the double armsleeve "SUPERMAN" bullshit. but kobe? the man knows his fucking basketball, i thought he was better than this

i fuckin hate kobe with every fiber of my being so i won't comment

i will say sportswriters bailed on dwight last year

home boy skipped a basketball camp in his name for underprivileged children

he used all of his goodwill up during the dwightmare.

He starts. plays like 20 minutes, picks up a few boards, block shot here and there and fills some space.

Then they bring in Andres Beidrins (possibly the biggest bust in all the NBA given his contract) because they have to now and the rest of the time they're running without a true 5.

but ya, the strength is Curry-Thompson-Lee with maybe the steal of the draft Harrison Barnes getting some starts now.

oh, and Bogut was a shot in the dark. Truth is, they wanted to get rid of Monte Ellis that badly and took the chance on the big guy.

no there are worse busts, maybe i'm mislead but i don't recall seeing beidrins contract on 2k and thinking "woof" that would be Kevin Martin, John Salmons, i'm sure there's a couple others. Honestly, even David Lee's contract is a bit laughable. I mean I like the guy quite a bit and he's fairly efficient offensively and he's a good rebounder but his defense is utter crap. That's not worth 13 million.

also that's basically the ceiling for Festus but i love that first name.

bogut is indisputably a defensive anchor if he can stay healthy, but that is the chance.

biedrins was zero minutes until Bogut went bogus. and if you've ever seen him take a free throw you'd be wondering how they let the developmentally disabled play in the NBA. 5 years for 58 is bad enough at this point.

apparently he does plenty of that in the 510. Don Nelson figured out how to utilize him back in the Boom Dizzle days, once he left...nuthin. for now, thank God Steph Curry can play and Klay Thompson can shoot.

oh yeah, and I heard in New York David Lee's nickname from some of his Knicks teammates was FEMA, cuz he was never there when you needed him. ouch...

big men are relentlessly overpaid since ones with even the slightest ability are such a scarce commodity

i remember my favorite contract is drew gooden. he's getting 10+ million a year and he's still got 3 years left. Drew Gooden.
