Default question about daniel johnston cassettes

I want to buy my brother Daniel Johnston cassettes for his 18th, so I'm buying him the entire cassette boxset which is on Daniel's webstore... Has anyone here ordered cassettes from there? Are these sourced from the crappy CD-rs which are notorious for having two second gaps of silence between each track?

that's a really obscure question. I wish I could answer it. I'm not sure how familiar folks are with Daniel Johnston. I do know that my vinyl copy of 1991 sounds really crisp... considering it's source material.

I can't say for sure, but I know This Will Destroy You released their latest album on cassette in a clamshell case with a larger booklet. A clamshell case is like one of those soft cases VHS Disney movies (and other childrens movies) used to come in. That could probably be it.

yes, i am not so worried about the original daniel cassettes because i know they're not digitally sourced, same goes for homestead daniel records and tapes, the 2007-2008 eternal yip eye vinyl are digitally sourced.
