i don't understand why it makes a difference and an example of post-industrial consumer idiocy is the fact that we have THREE CHOICES OF PULP LEVEL
HOLY FUCK DO YOU KNOW FORTUNATE YOU ARE TO BE ABLE TO BE ABLE TO BUY ORANGE JUICE FROM A REFRIGERATED COOLER |

dawg, do you realize the myriad of things we take for granted? i wouldn't give them a hard time over orange juice pulp content... except for elphenor and ilp being total nitwits.
as for me, i prefer no pulp, but i love to eat oranges. kinda like how i detest tomatoes, but love to eat tomato soup. my palate is crazy. |

Soup is just a dish with more water. Nothing wrong with that. I've listened to a lot of NPR programs on soup. It's one thing that could potentially bring us all together.

Not really, the texture of a tomato when you bite into it is off putting for some.

Cooked tomatoes and raw tomatoes are almost categorically different things.

I work with a bunch of picky eaters and by "picky" I mean they will throw out food. Like, I'm not a big fan of pickles, but if they're on a sandwich, I'm not going to take them off and throw them out. It's calories, it's money.

we're in the significant minority i guess
i dunno what your deal is with flavored cream cheese, i like the onion ones. fruit not so much. then again if i get a bagel, and there's blueberry cream cheese i'm going to eat it if i get a blueberry bagel and there's no cream cheese i'll eat it my preference is onion bagels with green onion and thing cream cheese but you know it's not the biggest deal in the world i mean jesus i get a preference? how lucky is that? |

If you eat for anything more than your most basic nutritional needs you are technically indulging anyway, who cares that you're indiscriminate about how you stuff your face.

those two things do not relate
isn't this about not eating basic nutritional needs because you don't like the texture or something |

Pretty sure no one is missing out on nutrition when they refuse to drink orange juice with pulp.
It seemed you were suggesting it was self-indulgent to be selective about what one eats. Obviously there is a line that can be crossed, but ordinary food preferences are hardly the province of the rich or selfish. And eating something solely to avoid throwing it away is excessive as well. |

having issues with overeating always seemed like an especially shitty hand to draw in life. like, the thing you do in excess is also a thing that is inextricably linked to your survival. i imagine taht telling an overeater to limit themselves to 1500 calories a day is like telling an alcoholic to limit themselves to 2 glasses of wine per meal.
