To be honest, it sounds like a better planned TbK to me. He will (try to) release 4 volumes, stick them into a box set with a few extras and call it an "album".

I know I'm never going to refer to it as anything other than "Shiny and oh so bright" or just "Shiny". I don't ever even think of "no future" etc.

If a vol 2 comes out it'll still be "Shiny", just part 2. Obviously.

Yeah, he was talking about the drawback being that he wasn't sure the band was up to the commitment of spending ten months in the studio. That, to me, is just a bizarre argument. Just make sure you're prepared going into the studio. There's absolutely no need to spend ten f***ing months in there!

I think it’s the most lightweight album SP have done, probably because its the least conceptual and literally just unconnected songs, but I think the Pitchfork review is WAY off. Shiny and Oceania are the least flawed SP records since Machina.
