Default My version of Ghost In The Machine by the Police

I did the same thing with Ghost In The Machine that I did with Synchronicity a while back. I changed it slightly. Got rid of the middle three tracks and put Low Life and I Burn For You two songs from that era.

1. Spirits In The Material World
2. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
3. Invisible Sun
4. Hungry For You
5. Low Life
6. I Burn For You
7. One World
8. Omegaman
9. Secret Journey
10. Darkness

i really like the police

AND STING

i'm basically right now gonna go thru and listen to all the police albums and then revisit fields of gold and the soul cages and depending on that more of sting. already revisited DOTBT and there's basically 4 good songs on it: Fortress Around Your Heart, if you love somebody set them free, we work the black seam, and love is the seventh wave. I can buy that consider me gone is good but i'm not as fond

i have a feeling ten summoner's tales is going to be about as good as i thought it was at 14. revisited if i ever lose my faith and you and fields of gold already and i'm still like shit these are good songs

to be honest right now i kind of feel like sting & morrissey have A LOT in common. really heady lyrics, lots and lots of talent (in fact, i think it's pretty much fact at this point that sting is a better musician) but the solo career lacks a certain guitar genius behind the tunes

however moz retained his sense of humor i dunno what the fuck happened to sting's

i always really liked demolition man, invisible sun is one of my favorite songs, so is spirits in the material world

the only 2 police albums i own are GiTM and Od'A and honestly i'm listening to RdB right now and it's AMAZING better than those two for sure

it's got everything: the inventive guitar, the jazz drums, sting's piercing vocals, catchy lyrics, and memorable bass line

I think The Police are pretty good (but who doesnt?) but solo sting..........oh boy.

Good comparison with Morrissey, both twats......

But solo sting is like....so fucking middle class boring. I dont know... I dont know how you bear it. It's depressing.

Except Sting can ACTUALLY write music. It's shit nowadays but he can do it...in fact the problem that happened is he got full of himself thought he WAS the band, started telling Andy what to play...

Zenyatta is probably their best album followed closely by Regatta. Sting's solo work is some serious garbage for the most part. Mostly liked by people who like adult contemporary and soft rock I imagine.

Its weird that they bothered with a video. I guess Andy Summers was just that big they felt it worth it. Somehow i cant see that getting heavy rotation on MTV....

Nice tune though, they should have made movie soundtracks.. Fripp and Summers i mea

Speaking of which, this doesn't really belong here but i watched Death Wish 3 last night just cause sometimes you have to watch shit films....Jimmy Page scored this!!? I was like wtf... i guess he did the second too. And whats worse, it's 80's horrible and feels like they could have just got anyone. There's not really much guitar for one. I woulnt be surprised if Golan-Globus just paid Jimmy page for the right to pretend he wrote it....

I mean Jimmy page wrote this?

honestly i feel like people don't talk about them enough

i'm revisiting all of this and it's killing me with how goddamn good almost all of it is

yet you know there's other 80s bands that are WAY more celebrated. Cure, Smiths, etc.

cause liking the Police doesn't give anyone cred. They were pretty much the biggest band in the world for 3 or 4 years. And then Sting became who he is.

There's a radio channel i get on my cable that is just 80s music and they play only about 3 police songs and one of them is an infamy i didn't know existed until i hear them play it...the "remake" of Don't stand so close to me (or as i like to call it , Don't Stencil Close to me, i'm funny like that) from 1986. It's a perfect example for why The Police ended up breaking up. It's a atrocity only adult contemporary Sting could think was a good idea.
