It just sounds so conventional and boring. The lyrics are uninspiring and the vocals sound bad in a few spots. If this is an indication as to what the rest of the album sounds like then I'm not interested. I hope that the whole TBK project can wrap up after the next album and he will finally drop the SP moniker.

I cannot imagine any scenario where I would listen to this song in a public place. Imagine being on a date and this shit comes on? Imaging driving a client around and popping this track on?

Disappointing. Teargardenish. Bad vocal production. Probably won't listen a second time.

That's funny, I did the same thing a week or two ago. Hadn't listening to Oceania since it came out, but i just busted it out and can't get Pinwheels out of my head. The synths at the beginning are a bit much, but there is a really good song buried under there.

first impression, okay, not great maybe within the context of the album this could work. Single? I don't know about that. I thought this was supposed to be a rock album? It's not bad but I was expecting some heavy shit. Missed the female background vocals.

Most people here seem to refuse to be open to anything post 90's Pumpkins. Zeitgeist? Hands down suck. Oceania? Hands down suck (for most people). No surprise here the reaction to BB is condemning.
I get the feeling, and this is just my opinion, that there are people on here who genuinely are upset about/hate the direction BC is and has been going. But, I think there a lot of trolls on here too, who enjoy getting a rise out of people. In any case, if you hate it so much, why waste your time on here?

ah, who cares, right, the Internet's a weird place.

I can hear this song produced under any other era and it sounds fine. Damn Howard and his vampire hipster fucking soul sucking soul.

Exactly. Most 'true' music should be introspective and/or experienced at a concert. Not at a party or on the radio or karaoke or whatever.

It does sound better. O r maybe I'm just digging the song more and more. Honestly, all the comparisons to TBK or Zwan, or Coldplay, or a car commercial, are just superficial observations, people. This is clearly a new, inspired, work of Corgan weirdness. To me, it sounds totally different than anything I've heard. You have to think that maybe, just maybe, Billy doesn't think about the music or perceive it in the same way that you do. Jus' sayin.

Definitely growing on me. His singing in the choruses is pretty great. A huge step up from the flat takes on say Zeitgeist. The melodic turns do remind me of some of the MCIS and Adore acoustic demos. It's overproduced but not to the point of say Owata....

That said, I had the same epiphany that a few others did back on like page 4 or something - this is WAY better than The Celestials.

I'll jump on the 30% minority here and say that I am, for some weird, reason, excited to hear more of this album.

weren't the 44 songs supposed to represent the Tarot or something?

billys vocals are absolutely atrocious. i mean just stop. stop singing. i would rather listen to liam gallagher sing with his blown out, god awful, terrible voice on repeat for 3 consecutive hours than listen to being beige. i mean enough already billy. who are you trying to impress? obviously not anyone who listens to music.

example:

this. this is better than billy corgan since 2007.

stop it. you've ruined the legacy the band once had and pissed on it as it went down the drain

Also, has anybody else noticed Billy has trouble enunciating the beginnings of words when singing since the Pumpkins have been reborn?

After a few listens, it is starting to grow on me. Definitely contemporary, so can't compare it to other time periods. The biggest letdown is that I've assumed Beige Beige to be this snippet from the nexus...Was so pumped when first heard that riff!

That snippet seems to be completely misleading. Unless it's the next single.

Corgan's guitar playing is increasingly resembling the sample choices you get with garage band
