It's clearly mixed to sound like that and has fuck all to do with the medium.

SIYL has one of Billys worst loud at any volume ear splitting clipped distortions in it.

Is calling Billy "b'arcy" supposed to be funny or offensive?

Right, yes, of course, obviously, thanks!

AND YET my point stands: a remix is not going to change the distortion or wetness on the raw audio, all remixing gets you, at bottom, is a chance to pan and eq differently, whereas dummies are acting like, suddenly, mii is gonna sound like Siamese Dream

Do you nerds really not know the difference b/w engineering and mixing

"Original mixes" AKA very probably not the stuff you're hearing on MI or MII for that matter.

Remember how BSBT came out on MI and everyone said it sounded like shit on the album? Asking why it was all slowed down and overproduced in comparison to the Arising! Version?

The point of this thing isn't to remaster MI and MII and put them out exactly as they were over again, he's talking about stuff like the FAEOMM version of BSBT - AKA the Arising version. Or stuff like the leaked versions of GATMOG or Home.

Guy said it was going to be "very different". If original versions of MI or MII show up they'll be bonus discs, which is what's being argued about now really.

Machina 2 could easily be cleaned up in the studio. Tape distortion and such could have been applied to the mix as a whole. Who’s to say that the individual raw tracks aren’t unclipped.

Wonder if the live Machina era stuff will sound like Rock On and Pale Scales from the videos DVD being as those were essentially live recordings

perhaps the same can't really be said about Machina I, arguably, but i think M2 sounds great for what it is, and I for one would not want new, sparkling, revisionist mixes.

slick, remixed, cleaned up, rerecorded =/= better sound (not necessarily at least)

more than i'm excited about this reissue, i am curious, in a "get a glimpse behind the scenes" kinda way

So you hope the reissue includes exactly the same recordings you’ve already possessed for 17 years.

MAKES SHENSHE!! Dum dum.
