Hey, the more #1s, the more videos we can probably get.
If the album tanks you can be sure we wont see more than 1 or 2 videos.

also, I am pleasantly surprised that Tarantula is at #3!!! Granted its a young song, but it certainly shattered my expectations for the new Pumpkinz chart topping grunge songz

Hey, the white stripes aren't lolfest. They should actually be at number 1 and pumpkins at 2.

It's a john lennon cover.

Is it the lyrics in particular that you don't like about the new green day song?

It just occured to me that Heath Ledger's Joker is very reminiscient of that scene in the Siva video where Billy covers his face in that weird paint stuff.

Papa Roach is bound to fall within the next week or two, but I'm amazed at the resilience of What I've Done on radio playlists. I don't know if Tarantula will get above #2 (though it is clearly better than What I've Done).

for one neither charted on the hot 100, whereas tarantula did so in that sense its already more of a hit. EG reached 4 on modern rock, siyl got to 2

Cool, good to know Tarantula charted on the Hot 100. What's been the peak so far?

It's also been in KROQ's Furious Five at 9 countdown almost every day, usually at #4.

Hopefully someone will come around with a more precise answer, but it was either 53 or 57 one or two weeks ago.

#1

"I’ve faced myself
To cross out what I’ve become
Erase myself
And let go of what I’ve done"

#2

"Because days! Come and go!
But my feelings for you are forever
Because days come and go
But my feelings for you are forever"

#3

"Can’t stand the morning rain
Get out and take your place then
Can’t stand the blazing sun
Then close your eyes you’ll see
The angel die."

#4

"Well, Americans:
What, nothin' better to do?
Why don't you kick yourself out?
You're an immigrant too."

Tarantula wins for sheer poetic merit, but Icky Thump makes some good points.

Hm.

doesn't make it any better. just because it was written by someone talented doesn't mean it's not a piece of crap. billy's a great songwriter but he's written some seriously shitty stuff.
