it was the eventide orville. two of them, actually, run in parallel to the two peavey amps

Artwork and album is a shame. Anything after machina hasnt got any substance. Some good tunes but overall its disappointing. I mean wildflower, run2me, fol, etccc are the worst he has ever released

I'm truly not surprised.
the orville was the top of the line eventide at the time. The Orville (6000$ pricetag at the time) had TWICE the processing power of it's predecessor the H7000
Billy loved the H3000, H3500 & H4000, they're all over gish, SD and MCIS
the H8000 came out in june of 2005, so it couldn't have been that unit, and all the other multi-effect processors from other competitors are just no where as deep as the eventides rack units for multi effect.

Dear @Billy,

Were you using beta models of the Eventide Orville during the Machina tour? You see, they only came out in 2001 and you were using them in 2000.

Regards, your real fans at

I don't understand how fans couldn't like this album.

It's got:
  • Siamese Dream's childhood issues
  • MCIS' Victorian-era aesthetics
  • Adore's arty bleep bloops
  • Machina's hazy shoegaze
  • Zwan's spirituality

I would consider it the last real "Billy" album.

Although I find the album, at best, a "good" level album, I actually agree with the last part. Whether it worked or not, it felt like the last time Corgan made a sincere album and really seemed to be chasing a muse. That whole 2005 era, with the album, the Confessions, and some of the best interviews he gave, really seemed like the last time he presented himself to the public with any real humility and appreciation for what his old band members brought to Smashing Pumpkins.

re: Machina Rig

Question - does anyone know what those two shitty little crate amps were used for? I had one of those when I first started playing and they are dreadful. I am assuming they were used for just checking if other things were working? The only other thing I could think of is they have a really harsh XTREME distortion channel that sounds kind of like the studio trickery used on Everlasting Gaze.

They were used on TEG and HMM for the harsh distortion sounds.
