Also, Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain both put on a great performance in it.

If you haven't seen those old films i'd strongly recommend seeking those out. If you have and enjoy them, i'd say this one is worth checking out as long as you don't go in with high expectations.
I should have listened, the plot issues were too much for me

I mean you've got incest, ghosts, and one of the bitchingest gothic mansions I've ever seen on film

And yet I'm totally boring of it. How did they even pull that off

That's not official I don't think

But what I appreciate the most about Ghibli animation is the accuracy of plants. They're real plants. Like in the wind rises there's a Plantago sp growing in the gravel along train tracks. It's only a few frames yet it's an accurate depiction.

Looks absolutely GORGEOUS but I don't know about the whole going back to the well with Harrison Ford's character. Kinda ruins a lot of the mystique of the original. I mean, I'll still see it opening weekend because it's gonna look amazeballs up on the big screen, but I kinda feel like they could've/should've come up with a story that didn't involve Deckard. That story's done, as far as I'm concerned. I don't want nor need Blade Runner: The Force Awakens.

Aww I liked Crimson Peak. Wasn't mind-blowing or anything, but sure looked pretty up on the big screen.

i might watch it too
not really a huge comic book guy so those characters don't appeal much to me
I disagree with that review, it builds perfectly toward the ending, and its set pieces are perfectly paced.

You don't need to know anything about the comics at all.

Prometheus - 3/5
Rewatched this in anticipation to Alien Covenant. Didn't change my opinion much, the birth operation scene is far and away the most chilling moment in the film.
I wish this would've had a better script because there are very interesting things about the film, it just doesn't come together in a satisfying way.
Also what a waste of Idris Elba.

i remember watching Prometheus and being staggered by its visual design, cinmetography and fleshing out of the Alien world much in the same vein as the original Alien from 1979, but definitely agree the actual 'meat' of the movie (script, plot) was not up to par. shame.

i'm still looking forward to watching Covenant though, at the least it'll be entertaining

I need to download a movie. I'm reading Dune. Wonder if any of the film adaptations are any good.

No, not as adaptations. But I think David Lynch's Dune is pretty badass as a Lynch movie.
