Right after Machina/Machina II some bozo friend of mine told me a new set of B-Sides like Pisces was coming out.

Did anyone else ever hear anything about that? I've always suspected it was BS, because my friend was.

it was actually the first and only pumpkins CD i played until it was too scratched to be enjoyable, i got into the game a little late i guess, but I fell in love with the tracks on there.
they made SP seems like a really deep, diverse band. you know, most of the tracks on it are available elsewhere like MII and even TAFH, Blissed and Gone is on the disc prepackaged with some Machina copies. the real treats are the Adore era cuts and HTTAB from the SIYL single

Sort of, AFAIK the Drown on the Greatest Hits is the same as the Drown from the original promo that came out at the time of the Singles soundtrack. That promo is pretty hard to get and as you know the Singles version has the long feedback at the end.

I remember being excited to get my copy of the 1991-1998 promo specifically because it gave me that extra version of Drown. Is the longer one cooler, well IMHO yes, but I think its cool to get an official release of the short one too, for completeness in my collection if nothing else.

P.S I dislike the shortened TAFH and could easily have done without it, I guess I don't need completeness for things I never new existed, that aren't as good.

The promo has both versions of the song. The complete version and the edit. The edit just fades out somewhere in the middle, so I don't see what's so special about it.

And I don't mind what they've done to TAFH. It's just the very ending that is missing there. I think they crippled Drown more severely.

On a related note, what SP songs have a (released) edited version?
I can think of the following:
- Rhinoceros (The intermezzo thingy at the end is not included on Lull. I'm not sure if it's really part of Rhinoceros though.)
- Daughter (The demo tape has a shorter version than the flexi release.)
- Drown (4 minute edit, just fades out. See Drown promo and Rotten Apples.)
- Dreaming (Loop at the end is not included on the 12 track TAFH sampler.)
- TAFH (Missing the "and in my heart I know..." outro on Judas O.)
- Try, Try, Try (Radio edit, fades out. Released on UK promo.)
- Try, Try, Try (Another radio edit, part of the song in the middle is edited out. Released on Spanish promo.)
- Speed Kills (3:23 edit, fades out. Released on Japanese Machina cd.)

Are there any others?

I never understood why Judas o *******d tracks from TAFH. I remember being super pissed about that. Because i really didn't need to own those songs for a third time

Do what I did and get it for really cheap off of eBay. Because you'll already have all the songs on the first disc and half the songs on the second.
