An ex of mine said he was into trip hop and he bought a lot of stuff off a label called Ninja Tune. Up, Bustle and Out - One Colour Just Reflects Another was one I liked. He was into Herbaliser I think they were called, I wasn't so into that though.

I gave Kruder and Dorfmeister a listen yesterday based on what you said. They are very good. Kind of a cross between acid jazz and trip hop. Some of their stuff actually predates Portishead.
