yeah i took the debate side of "globalism is good" easily in one of my stupid classes, literally everyone was against me. it may not be great for 'Merica but it's much better for the world in most situations. also, yes america has a high child poverty rate but it's not comparable to poverty in west africa, it's literally the difference between school lunches and literally dying from starvation or even exposure. people somehow could not understand this - "but but but the poverty rate is 28%!!!"

obviously we need to work on poverty in the USA but people are so myopic in general. including me on some issues but apparently not this one
