It's dumb to put all your eggs in one basket but I've done it since childhood. One "best friend" then "boyfriend" then "husband". When you break away from that person it leaves you lonely at first but I've also dealt with that since childhood and it doesn't hurt anymore, at all.

Not to contradict you ILP but my psychosis is real enough. At one point I thought my neighbors turned my heating off to force me out of the apartment. I called my landlord at 9 PM freaking out. It was just the coils shutting off after the room had been heated. And I did worse/more shameful stuff. There are a number of businesses I cannot go to because of the way I acted.

oh man i can't even begin to talk about the psychotic breaks i've witnessed due to drug abuse. i'm sure it's far worse if you already have tendencies. people thinking our phones were hacked and smashing them and rebuying them, over and over. thinking the car radio was tapped. evacuating apartments in the middle of the night. i can't stand tweakers, even when i did partake i hated the whole scene. downers were more my jam but they are so physically and psychologically addicting they make people totally unbearable too. psychedelics are really the way to go but there are only so many times you can do them before you lose yourself. and forget it if you you have any kind of responsibility, they are too incapacitating.
