Next Year's Tour

The Pumpkins should provide an album download to concert ticket holders next year. This certainly worked out well for Metallica this year.

I'm optimistic that next year's tour will sell out arenas and secure good festival offers. 2018 has the makings of a very good year in Pumpkinland.

I also don't know how good a slot they will get at festivals. Festivals are certainly a higher pay day. I remember bill saying he was disappointed with the slots they had been offered at festivals. He still wants to be the biggest band in the world I guess.

Fat chance. Pumpkins are trying to follow the GnR business model. Start off with a newly added "classic" logo to the website after a year of rumors that the band is gonna get back together, and then follow it up with a ton of arena tours and headlining festival spots.

The GnR success is also why they probably rationalize that they can do the tour without D'arcy... "Hell, the Gnr tour is doing gangbusters without Steven Adler and Izzy Stradlin".

Problem is that GnR is a different kind of beast entirely. They've become a fabric of rock and roll pop-culture. Pumpkins don't hold anywhere near the same kind of pull. So if it's B0lly, JC and Iha with some random eye-candy plucking the bass I don't think it's gonna work.

It needs to be a full reunion or they shouldn't even bother.
