How is New Mexico?

My parents are going to move to Albuquerque in 6 weeks or so. I've never been farther west than Texas and don't know if I should go with them or stay in Austin. Have you ever been to this state and which do ya think is better?

New Mexico is famous for hot air balloons; well I mean, they have a festival every year.

ABQ is beautiful and you should take the tram up Sandia Peak.

One of my favorite life moments happened on the way back from the four corners, where we pulled over before we got back to ABQ and looked at the glowing stars against the pure black night sky. it was breath-taking and made me happy to be alive. i felt really close to the universe (and i wasn't even on drugs!)

there might be some differences in the quality of soil if you get buried. might want to check out cremation rates or maybe mausoleums?
