Default Pitchers worse than John Burkett

I, for one, cannot think of any.

The entire Texas Ranger pitching staff. That 1ncludes all farm clubs, current MLB roster, and previous rosters, sans Nolan Ryan.

Not to mention the all-time no-hitter leader.

Not to mention the all-time walk leader.

Not to mention he lost 294 games.

Ryan's one of the top 25 pitchers of all-time. At best.

Thumbs down

Won/Loss is the most overrated stat a pitcher has.

He lost 294 games, and pitched in how many seasons, on how many awful teams?

That's what I thought. Who needs control when you can throw 101 mph on a consistant basis for 9 innings.

Ryan's in the top 15, but not in the top 10.

True but that seems to be the main thing pitchers are remembered for and rewarded for.

Ryan played on some ass teams but the Lastros weren't that bad during Ryan's decade in Houston. And the Rangers and Angels were mediocre, not terrible when he was there.

For what it's worth, Roger Clemens won 17 games this year at the age of 41. Nolan Ryan didn't win more than 15 games in a season after the age of 30.

Anytime anyone in baseball rates pitchers, Ryan isnt anywhere close to the top fifteen, cause he wasnt as good as everyone thought he was.

Ryan could donimate, but especially in the first half of his career, he would lack control and lose games because of it.

Ryan has the strikeout record, but he also walked more people than anyone in major league history.
