Personal Shopper - 4/5
First things first, I was slightly drunk when I saw this so the movie made little sense to me. Not sure I understand everything that happened or what it was supposed to mean. BUT I enjoyed it nonetheless. It's really weird and very tense in spots. I wanna watch it again and see if it makes more sense.

K-Stew is amazing throughout, she bring the k-stew's school of acting in full force and has what is probably the gayest wardrobe i've seen an actress wear in a movie (which is definitely not a complaint).

Also I watched 2 episodes of Castlevania which is like half the season.
It's actually pretty decent so far. Very bloody.

Castlevania - 4/5
Finished watching the whole season (do 4 episodes count as a season?).
I really enjoyed it, there's an interesting lore and the characters are fun, but the whole thing feels like it's just an intro to the real show and that hurts it cause when things start coming together it just ends.
I hope they produce more episodes soon, i'd like to see more.

Saving Private Styles

Fucking incredible. Arguably the best war movie since that one Spielberg did in the 90s. See it.

A+

I'm not even a war-movie guy, but it's gotten to the point where I'm willing to give a film a shot if it's a Nolan film. I know it probably sounds like I'm drinking the Kool-Aid, but sometimes popular things are actually good and it's okay to like them.

I don't recognize Kate Beckinsale when she's not wearing a latex catsuit.

Watched the start of Disney's Alice in Wonderland, up until Alice met the rabbit, then my laptop shat itself and Emma decided as I was trying to get it working again that she'd rather go to bed.

The first song was quite nice and the little cat was very cute, but it did strike me as odd that Alice's tutor just completely disappeared from the plot like she was never there. Maybe that's all part of the nonsensical theme of the story though.

B+ would sit through again

I haven't read it since I was a kid, so I can't remember the tutor's role in the story.

She has virtually no role in the plot, it's just a detail that I noticed, that once Alice starts talking about "her world", her character is abruptly absent from the rest of the scene. The introduction of the rabbit is as abrupt as Alice's tutor's departure, because the scenery of Alice's daydreaming about her world is all grounded in reality, with nothing especially surreal happening. Then all of a sudden there's an anthropomorphic rabbit. I'd forgotten how sudden a transition from real to surreal the plot had, compared to say, a traditional dream sequence, where it's not immediately obvious that the character is dreaming, but becomes apparent once more and more weird and unlikely things blur the reality of the scene.

sergei eisenstein's 'strike'.

9/10. total propaganda piece, but the editing and cinematography is incredible for 1925.

Saw 1-7: That's a lot of sawing - 3/5

Omg so many people died, the plot makes no sense and the acting is terrible... but it was cathartic in a way seeing so many people exploding into parts.

I actually thought the story/stories made enough sense. Convoluted, yes, but they followed their own inner logic well enough.
