I really just can’t get into Jeff’s playing and it seems to be getting worse. He’s putting a lot of cheese on what would otherwise be beautiful arrangements.. like wtf is he doing to that cherub rock riff? God damn.

Thanks copperpot!

I'm recording the Jones Beach show tonight. Hopefully it saves OK, unlike my Montreal recording last year.

Eh, there's a few "deepish" cuts. Cool to have Tiberius in there.

Weezer suffers from the same problem with their live shows. It's how it goes when these legacy acts play big venues, gotta cater to the casual fans.

While Gallagher isn’t the biggest Pumpkins fan, he does like some Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness tracks. “I like ‘1979’ and ‘Tonight, Tonight,'” he says. “I remember seeing them do that at the MTV Awards in the ’90s with the full orchestra. I was like, ‘Wow, fucking hell. That’s pretty.'” He’s also relieved bassist D’Arcy Wretzky won’t be joining them on the tour: “Let’s put it this way. If she was a guy, she would have got fucking kicked in the bollocks.

D'arcy was joking about Oasis at the MTV European Music Award 1996, comparing them with the Beatles unseriously.

Noel hasn't forgiven her in 23 years... Don't look back in anger!

MTV owner Viacom has now locked all the private recordings of the award's presentation. Only this Russian synchronized version was under their radar.

re: amps on stage

I think [the problem with the tour is] the amps - even if it's better for the band, it kills the vibe a bit for the crowd; it seems sterile, or fake, or overproduced.

To paraphrase a guy in the Ken Burns Baseball documentary, "We could be down there...there's not much separating me from Willy Mays". It's the same thing here - when there's amps on stage, there's a relatability there. Everyone who's ever played guitar has sat in their bedroom with an amp dreaming of playing on a big stage with a big Marshall stack.

When you go see a band live and they're doing some wanky thing where the amps are offstage in an iso booth, it kills the magic

This is so true.

Amps and guitars go together like singers and microphones. It's what makes rock LOUD. Amps signify the POWER OF ROCK.

But Billy is basically the Jay Leno of rock now, so he'd do anything for his corporate overlords to "compete at the highest level"

The Gallaghers are thick as pig shit.

And Liam assaults women.

So, Noel's back-handed seal of approval is pretty fucking meaningless. Corgan's instagram posts sound like Trump.

The Darien Lake show was incredible. They sounded tighter as a band and had more energy last night than either the Shiny or anniversary tour gigs I caught last year. Wish I could hit more than one stop

Fire and Rain sort of works! His voice sounds nice on it.

For those saying it's a weird cover, i suppose back in the day Landslide and Dancing in the Moonlight would've also been considered weird choices for them.

Lol Oasis had some good songs in the mid 90's, but lets be honest with one another, they were awfully derivative. Noel Gallagher being "one of the best ever" is laughable.

Over the last 10 years, it seems like Corgan will kiss anyones ass who'll bother to work/associate with him.
